Fellow Warriors, apparently some person or persons unknown hacked my account and gained access, some time yesterday, I was using a password that was easy to remember, that has been changed, it is difficult to keep up with all the different passwords these days so I took a chance and keep it simple. This person went in and deleted all of my blog posts, and apparently from what I hear, made several inappropriate posts promoting some website or another, I am looking around to see what the damage is currently. Just a word to the wise even though It is a pain to keep up with passwords that are hard to guess it appears that a password manager is something I am going to be considering for the very near future. I am still looking around here, but it appears that who ever did this made a big mess in my name, so if anyone was offended by this person, please accept an apology and do let me know if you notice this again there are several members here that have my regular email address. I dont expect this to happen again as I am using a password that is next to impossible to guess unlike before, but I guess that anything is possible. I just thought I would let folks know that there is a person of ill repute on who is around and looking for victims. Anyone know of a good password manager system? |

RoboForm for sure. And I'm sorry to hear about your accounts being hacked.

It might be worth contacting the Helpdesk about this, in case they can track the IP number from which your account was hacked. Just a suggestion.

Hi Tim, Sorry that happened. I think I saw those strange posts. They were like weird poetry. Sorry about your blog posts also. I know what you mean about passwords. Remembering them is a pain and I really hate password storage systems myself. With practice I've devised a way to remember my PWs based on little mind games I play. After I started doing this I read somewhere that doing so helps dead brain cells be replaced and new connections made, and it slows down alzheimers. I forget where I read that but .... ![]() Anyway, I hope everything works out for you I.E. that phony impersonator. George Wright |

@ concerning the IP address there was one that got reported but it left a dead end trail as these things often do. I will just have to be more careful with my passwords. Thanks for the info, though, now I am curious, sounds like some kid, no offense meant to actual kids but this younger generation makes you wonder.

Tim - Get Roboform - you can't do better than that. One of the best things about using it is you don't have to have "memorable" passwords. You can do high strength complex passwords and never forget them because Roboform will pop up and give them to you. I couldn't do without it - have been using it for years and it's updated frequently. Good product. kay |
