Holy Cow - MJ and Farrah bring 1300 visitors to a site of mine

well i was reading that thread where someone recommended to use the "Twitter Poster" plugin to attract more visitors to WP blogs.

I have this "garbage" blog which i feed with Google Trends keywords using my own "Hotfeed" tool - a script which grabs the Google Trends keywords and makes RSS feeds out of them, so the blog always gets posts which are related to whats hot in Google trends.

And i plugged in "twitter poster" which tweets all those posts to my twitter account.

Today i check my stats


and i got 1300 visitors yesterday on my blog..my jaw literally dropped.

(If you check that site...blog.promisia.com <-- it has a horrible design and there is really nothing about it...i am just in shock about getting so much visitors. Def. have to work on that site and take advantage of this..

    Yes George, Google Trends can be a gold mine if you know how to use it.

      Unless you'se have a compelling reason to keep these "1300 visitors" there...they'll be gone by the time the parties you mention are buried.

      Maybe it's just me....but I'd rather have 10 people show up to the dance...and buy something.....and come back the next month and buy again....no celebrity death needed.

        Vince is absolutely right.

        One of the clients that I have been consulting keeps dragging its feet. Well, there are two partners -- one is ready to move forward with everything I say but the other one agrees to everything but a day later fights me on everything. (Example: We're ready to set up 1shoppingcart and the next day, he insists he can find something out there to do everything 1shoppingcart will do only for free.)

        So now they still won't give me the OK to get everything up. They're spinning their wheels while this guy tries to reinvent the wheel. Now, instead of outsourcing as I have recommended, he's sitting down and trying to learn html. Grrrr!

        Anyway, I've sent plenty of PR (public relations, not page rank) opportunities to these partners, and the other guy has acted on a couple of them.

        The other day, he called me up, so excited, because one of those PR opportunities resulted in him being quoted in a newspaper article, on a blog, and in the Twitter feed.

        I hated to bust his bubble, but I asked him if he realized that all of that effort was wasted because it wasn't sending readers anywhere because his partner was still farting around.

        In their case, the potential traffic had nowhere to go to learn more.

        In the case of the original post in this thread, the traffic was there but, once they got there, there wasn't anything for them to do.

    I like the idea a lot -- even if I prefilter on stuff that is relevant to my niche, I'll end up with plenty of hot trends.

    mhmm, all I need now is your "Hotfeed" tool;-)

    I have this on Warrior's for some time already.

    Yes, the 1300/day were a spike - no question, but otherwise i am getting APPROX 300 uniques/day with this method. And it works EXCEPTIONALLY well in conjunction with that "twitter poster" plugin.

    However, yes, traffic is rather "unspecific", it really depends what's "hot" right now. And as i said..that site still needs a big overhaul. I had adsense on it not hat long ago (still have)..testing CPA right now with banners. Problem here: MOST CPA offers only pay for US traffic. Maybe i should revert back to all adsense...

    It would get REALLY interesting if i'd make a whole bunch of such sites...it could add to some nice adsense change

      not really...thats why i say i might want to switch back to adsense only, or find that "irresistible" CPA offer which converts.
