Let's say you create a mailing list.

Your subscribers get your emails, and everything is cool.

One day, a subscriber decides to go and edit his details - perhaps because he has a new email address. And he sees this.



Now, guess what? Your subscriber can't tell which of your lists is which. If he happened to be trying to unsubscribe from one of them, he would have to unsubscribe from all of them.

Of course, you would hope your stupid and easily manipulated customer just stays subscribed to all of them, out of fear... but we aren't so stupid and easily manipulated in this world anymore. So you can guess what I did.


And I didn't even go there to unsubscribe. I was just going to change my email address, so I could more easily filter the emails into a new folder. I valued this list, somewhat, but now I see the list owner didn't really value me.

It's just a basic lack of respect. Give me, at the very least, twenty seconds of your time inventing and typing a name for your list. It's not some stupid thing that doesn't matter; EVERYTHING matters.
