Same old BS!?
I've been away from the Warriors site now for about 10 years - I tried logging in with my old id but it's gone, so here I am with a zero post count again! Anyway, it's interesting to note that a lot of people are still coming up with the same make $20K per month or week BS when it seems obvious to me that they aren't. I'm not trying to be argumentative but has anyone here actually MADE it?
It's just that I tried a lot of the big schemes and E-Books while working in marketing and none of it has ever worked for me - or anyone else I know for that matter. Am I wrong in saying that to actually make money online you have to treat it like 'real world' business and actually have a product or service that people genuinely want as opposed to something you think/hope that they want?? Something with real quantitative evidence behind in that it is viable.
Just wondering, how many of the current members are involved in real business that is making real money as opposed to hair-brained schemes? Not putting anyone down, just wondering? If you are actually making a real living from your business online, what kind of business is it? I have my own business so I'm not looking for ideas just trying to get a discussion going with people who are genuine.
I took over a website recently that has 25,000 members but has been going downhill due to a lack of change or activity by the previous owner. Now I am in the process of a major rebrand, redesign, recode and creative redevelopment project which I treat just like a real world exercise. Proper market research, face to face meetings with real industry experts and my own background experience. It took nearly 4 month of analysis of the site before coming up with a firm concept document for the web designers and a further 2 weeks of discussion with them to ensure we were all on the same page. Currently under development with a 12 week project time frame to completion.
Just wondering how many others here treat their business along these lines? I am a firm believer that 99.99% of online marketing theory and Ebooks are complete nonsense and that real business online is based on real marketing principals and business theory coupled with a proper understanding of the forces behind the social networking phenomenon. I would like to think that there are some Warriors who have outgrown the get rich quick approach and are applying real marketing to real online business.
Bit of a rambling intro, not intended to step on any any toes - but if anyone is on the same page I'd like to hear.
Thanks,
Dave
