take a look at wordpress.org. You can install wordpress from your Cpanel it's under Fantastico.

      Hi

I think you have signed up for wordpress.com (Hosted) while
you are looking for wordpress.org (Self-Hosted). So basically
if you login to cpanel on your domain and go to fantastico at
      the bottom and install wordpress.

Then go to wordpress.com and login. Go to Tools > Export (Save that file on you desktop)
Login to your self-hosted and Import the file you just saved.

I don't know if this helps you but I downloaded wordpress to my computer and downloaded a (free) program called xampp so that you don't have to be online to work on the site.

Xamp is for testing on your own computer.

Wordpress needs to be online on your own hosting account, unless you are using your own computer as a server to the web.

Raindrop, totally useless information for someone who just signed up to wordpress......... !

Achilles 1963 send me a pm and I'll help you sort this out. FOC = free of charge.

RainDrop, thanks for the tip about xampp. I had just gotten to the point of total frustration trying to work with WordPress online.
