Ecommerce without PayPal - Question

I have a computer client using html and hates PayPal. Any suggestions on what to use for ecommerce or at the very least accepting credit cards?

Not being able to accept PayPal from customers costs many marketers a significant proportion of their potential sales.

Might he want to use a processing-system that accepts PayPal from customers but doesn't involve the vendor/merchant in using his own PayPal account to collect the money from the processor? That can solve a lot of problems.

There are plenty of ways of doing that. ClickBank and 2Checkout are the first two examples that spring to mind (depending on what's being sold) but there are others, too.

I have to agree with Alexa if you are not taking advantage of the millions of registered paypal accounts then odds are you are missing a lot of potential revenue. In any case don't forget ACH, Beanstream, Braintree, Dwolla, Google Wallet, Stripe or Wepay. Hope this helps.

Have him get his own merchant account if he doesn't want to use Paypal. He'll probably hate that more in the long run, but I don't see 2CO as being any better than Paypal. You can apply for merchant accounts and get set up pretty quickly at acceptsafe.com

You can use Wepay, it is very similar to paypal, takes about a minute to sign up for, and does the same exact thing.

I don't love PayPal either, but as a marketer it is still the main processor everyone uses. The next one I would try is 2Checkout. Good luck.

If you do not want to use the Paypal, you can use the SKRILL, Payoneer, payza or, something like these. You can use the service, which is the best for you. One service may give more facilities in your country than another. So you need to check first.

Most of those do not accept US customers I believe.

Does he accept credit cards offline? Check with his current payment processor and see if they offer an online solution.

Plimus is another option that you can check. They have been online for many years and they are reputable.

Paypal is the monster. You should have your site accept multiple payment options as other gateways are slowly increasing in popularity. A couple to watch for in the future is Dwolla, and dare I say, Bitcoin, which is not so much a gateway as a legal tender. My two sense!

Stripe is the way to go. We wanted a Paypal alternative and they have been fantastic.
