Launching first digital product ... marketing/JV/Affiliate advice needed !

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum so if this belongs in another category, please advise.

I'm in the process of launching my first digital product. I know social media (was architect for a social media company acquired for over 300m) and I know personal development (currently work as a coach, studied consciousness, human behavior and various personal transformation tools over the last decade).

What I don't know much about is marketing, JV, Affiliates, etc ... which is why I'm here.

So.

My website is done.
I've got a digital product to offer (or at least I will by end of month).
I've got upsells (in person master classes and 1-1 coaching).

My question is, well basically, I want to crush it.

Where do I go from here ? How do I get this in the hands of as many people as possible, so that a) people experience huge awesome life changing shifts from my product and b) my bank account fills up with lots of cash with as much ease as possible.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

    Congrats on how far you've come thus far, that's a lot of work.

    Now, for the questions you have asked - that too, is a whole realm of learning. This entire set of forums is dedicated to online/internet/digital marketing.

    Thousands upon thousands of pages are dedicated to online marketing.

    To answer your questions in a simple forum post - just would not be possible.

    The main premise behind marketing - is go where your customers are, with an appropriately priced, quality product.

    You have social media, search, affiliates, etc to help promote/distribute. And each of these have their own nuances.

    There is just too much to sum up in a simple answer.

    Probably not the answer you want to hear - but it's not easy, marketing isn't just something "done on the side" it's a whole subject (with many variants) within itself.

    Learn how to funnel traffic as leads to sales. Since you know social media, you should be able to convert people into leads. Get more targeted, have more campaigns.

    You need a lead database, a squeeze/landing page and slightly-warmed-up traffic from PPC, social media ads, etc. Get into partnerships with existing mailers and experts. Launch a direct mail campaign if you know how to.

    JV's don't come out of the blue. You need to find someone who knows them in your market (a broker), look them up in list.NextMark.com or infousa, or contact these people personally by mail/email/phone, etc.

    You just said it yourself... it's basically the whole process of promotion. There are TONS of methods of promotion... content marketing for one already branches out to tons of possible channels. There's viral marketing... gosh I could go on. You get the idea.

      Start off with

      Joint Venture (JV) Marketing + Networking Community
      Warrior Joint Ventures
      Affiliate Program Database

      Try and get as many people behind the product launch beforehand to get the biggest bang. You also want to have a jv page with some kind of cash contests to persuade marketers to hit your launch hard.

          The majority of big launches have some type of competition for all the affiliates promoting the offer that offers cash prizes for the most sales made on launch day.

          For example:

          1st Prize - $5000 (minimum 100 sales)
          2nd Prize - $3000 (minimum 75 sales)
          3rd Prize - $1000 (minimum 50 sales)

          This gives your affiliates an incentive to promote your offer hard on launch day and some will even send several warm up emails before the launch, to get customers ready for launch day, so you get server melting traffic.

    Thanks guys ... you're right, there is so much out there I don't even know where to start looking ... and the truth is that I don't have the drive or desire to spend hours on end trying to "figure out the ropes" of marketing.

    I guess my best bet is to find the right contacts / JV to help fill in the gap ?

      I second that.

      You would want 3 lists really.

      The first one on the front-end which can either be a free report on an exit splash or free report on a squeeze page with followup autoresponder sequence to promote the main offer. You can also gather emails on a launch page with countdown to launch day such as "Enter email to be alerted on launch day".

      The second one will be on the page you send your client after purchase. Have a simple name and email opt-in that asks your client to register their purchase to access. This then builds your buyer list for future promos or product launches.

      The third would be an affiliate registration page that you ask affiliates to fill out before accessing the promo materials. This would be essential for communicating throughout the launch and updating your affiliates of who is on the leaderboard for the cash prizes, so people know how well their doing and can determine what other promotions would help them scoop the prizes. This list would be useful also for future product launches.

    Hi Nick,
    You can either do this yourself by networking with people in your niche that already have the buyers you want although this will take time to build a relationship as they are unlikely to mail for you off the bat, you can promote it yourself via ppc (as the fastest way - but may require significant 'testing' budget) and by creating a sales funnel or you look for a good jv broker who has the contacts with affliates with large amounts of possible buyers in your niche. The last option 'could' bring huge rewards if you've got a great product and back end offers. There are signicant fees involved in working with any great jv broker but if your products good enough you'll make these back multiple times!

      Nice, I like the last option, I want to focus on my product and coaching services the most, rather than spend hours building relationships and promoting ... I want to outsource as much as possible. I have no doubts the product is solid either based on client experiences.

      If I went that path, what's the best way to connect with some jv brokers ?

    Do you have a list of your own?

    Seeing as though you aren't that well known it would be beneficial
    for you to have a list to promote that product too.

    Once a few sales start coming in and you have momentum that can then
    begin to attract affiliates into the game.

    Also if your conversions are good etc that will go in your favor too.

    You can offer 100% commissions at the front end too and even throughout
    the funnel if you want.

    Also as already mentioned you can offer CASH PRIZE bonuses too just
    to sweeten the deal.

    Oh and also...

    ...Why not contact affiliates and offer them a review copy of your product
    and tell them they can get 100% commissions and a CASH bonus too etc.

    Really look to make it a great deal for them.

      My coaching list has about 300 and youtube about 120 followers over the last 3-4 months ... not much but a start ... I do have a product pyramid in place with a free offering planned, but I know list building probably takes time ...

    TRAFFIC! Either invest money or time.

    1. Use Facebook for traffic. Post some ads, split test and get them down to £0.02 a click to your site
    2. Video marketing on Facebook
    3. Use many strategies to get traffic like blogs, videos, images etc

    Congrats on your product! Lot of good suggestions, and, typically, what happens is that one or two advertising tactics will emerge as those that produce sales. In addition, I would leave you with some general advertising advice...he/she who markets MOST wins!
