Is there a market for translators in IM?

Hi!

Thanks in advance for your opinions. I am a translator and I also run an europe based translation agency. I have been a member for a while but never seen translation services being advertised here, don't Internet Marketers hire translators? Do you think this would be a service I could successfully offer here or...? Thanks a lot

    Translators are very much needed in this industry. You just don't see much need for it here because not everybody in the IM world needs this done.

    I would recommend selling it elsewhere than here, but then again, if you don't know of any other place to sell it, try here first and then move towards having your own website built. You can try posting up ads on TaskArmy.com for free to get more people knowing about your work.

    If you want, you can always do a bit of Fiverr work and offer your stuff there. It will be a great start for building clientele and testimonials.

    The translation market is competitive. However, there
    are some services that may be suited to the IM market
    such as translating PLR materials for non-English speaking
    markets.

    I'd suggest you try hooking up with some PLR providers to
    see if they might be interested in offering their content in other
    languages.

    I think it depends on the market and language you are able to translate.

    I can imagine that English-Spanish would be a very good market, and surely there are many product creators who would like to offer their products in mltiple languages.

    If you could market it correctly there's surely money to be made, you just need a unique angle and convince your potential customers that your service will increase their business.

      Now that you mention it, there are tons of products on cb where ts everal products are being translated to fit into another language.

      Talk with several product vendors on Clickbank and ask them personally if they ever plan on creating another version of their digital/PDF products into another type of language.

    I think there would be a good match in the IM community especially if you can think of pricing it a little differently than dealing with a client that just needs localization work. Best example, I am assuming you charge by the word, sentence or paragraph. For large video courses, it could cost thousands to be translated. I would consider talking to successful product owners and working with them to split proceeds on non-english versions of their products.

    Obviously there is some more work involved on your end but the income opportunity could be significantly higher as well. I thought about doing this for a course that has a lot of english competition but zero in the spanish, japanese or chinese language market...

      Thanks a lot for all your insights. Amazing feedback from this community. I really like the idea of contacting successful product developers and offer them a partnership. In fact, I might open a JV thread here on Warrior's forum and see who wants to tap other markets. I am thinking the Portuguese/Brazilian market should be a great start.

      Because we now live in a global economy, the need for translators can only grow. Internet marketing is an incredibly untapped market in my opinion.

      If you'd just spend your time helping owners and marketers with successful products get into other countries that alone should keep you busy for many years.

      The marketers I know usually have to contact a translator to get them to help them translate books, ebooks and sales materials. But you'd have an advantage if you contacted the successful product owners first. In fact, you could do it between two countries and double your fun. That's just one avenue.

      You can also help Google adword marketers, Facebook marketers and others expand their market reach. They may have never thought of it (or thought it practical) until you approach them. Woh! Excuse me, I'm making myself so excited I may learn another language myself.
