So, What Internet Marketing Skill Are You Working To Improve On or Get?

Being a successful or well rounded internet marketer can involve mastering or at least knowing many different skills. As the saying goes, "if you're standing still - you're falling behind". Because when you stop learning you stop growing. (I promise, no more cliches).

So, without revealing any trade secrets (unless you want to), what new skill are you working on now... or what skill are you hoping to improve on.

For example, I want to improve my mobile marketing skills and of course my niche marketing skills. Both seem to be moving and changing faster than the speed of sound.

Unless you're standing still (already perfect) or just plain shy , what skills do you hope to get or improve on now or in the near future?

Thanks for sharing!

    Hi

I am always learning and expanding my knowledge base. I attend seo certification trainings every year. I also hire coaches to make sure that I stay at the top of my game and stay on track with my online goals. There is always more to learn. That is what makes internet marketing so exciting.

    Sincerely,
    Caterina

SEO for sure, I don't get much traffic from Google at all. I find SEO very complicated and I just can't seem to find something that will work.

My personal opinion is that Google is almost offended that anyone can think of SEO as a skill and is doing all in it's power to make it almost impossible to find a loophole. Damn I remember the days I could rank almost anything in Google.co.za in weeks. So the thing about SEO as a skill is its almost a disheartening skill to learn as it changes so often leaving one back at square one. So my advice is learn from others mistakes and never make SEO your key focus too Damn risky.

Copywriting and product creation have been my babies for a while. IM or any other profession is a constant learning experience. When you stop learning is when you should be worried lol.

The four major components would be..

    1) Copywriting Skills
    2) Technical knowledge on how to create/maintain websites/web pages/graphics on site SEO stuff
    3) Knowing how to get massive traffic from search engines/social media/etc
    4) Improving your product/making sure it's something that your target market is looking for or is currently in need.

Building relationships and having a mentor is the key steps soo many miss out on.

Without these - the learning curve is long and for some very costly.

Skills are gained by taking action, getting results or failing,
and if you fail over and over, just make sure you fail fast and fail forward.
The most successful people i have met have had more failures than successes.

I'm always working on my copywriting skills. I'm a big believer of picking something which your turn into your core competency.

My biggest weakness has always been driving traffic to my sites. After that, I'd say all the technical stuff like setting up blogs, etc. I was never good with technology. Even the simplest things give me trouble.

If I could get better at those two things, my business would be a lot easier to run and probably be profitable a lot sooner.

Over the last year and a half I've gradually been working on my "outsourcing" and "employing people" skills. With some progress. This has always been a very, very difficult area for me, and it held me back a lot. I think there's very much more to it than people generally acknowledge (or at least, there seems to me to be very much more to it than people generally acknowledge. It's very difficult indeed.) I still have some way to go, with it, I'm sure.

Alexa, no skills needed here. I'd work for you any day of the week.

I am always testing the emails on my autoresponder. Both in terms of quantity sent and duration between them. It's a constant testing/leaning struggle for me.

Everything is the IM world is a constant learning experience. I mean, you always have to be at the top of your game every time and be prepared for it.

Even though I've sold a ton of WSOs, I still have a few ups and downs. Even though I've landed a ton of offline clients, I still need some areas of improvement, everything from my cold calling to my closing rates.

I could always use some learning, and don't think that making $5,000 or even $10,000 from IM already makes you some sort of guru. Never be afraid to learn more and grow, because nothing beats adding more knowledge to possibly add in more profits.
