Is EMO Marketing The New Hype?

I have been looking at many sales pages and have been listening to many sales pitches and I've noticed a new trend coming up: EMO Marketing.

We all know that facts sell, but besides proving our point through facts and bullit points, it seem that we are getting more personal these days.

Personal stories are being used as a HOOK to entertain the prospect, to find a way into our prospects'minds. And that got me thinking:

The upside tot this is that instead of hard selling, you can use your own pesonality to grasp your potential buyer's attention. You can be you again. Priceless!

The downside could be that if you're an average person and don't have an entertaining story to share. Then What?

It seems like we need to use our life, pets, cars, hobbies or crazy neighbors to become an entertainer that aur audience seems to like. But for how long?

And....How long will it take before they recognize that we are using EMO marketing to overcome their objections as well? Afterall, they have seen it all!

Personally, I like the fact that I can combine my personality with my skills to get my point accross. I do wonder what the H*** is next? Are we actually going to use our kids? Our family and friends? Our pets? If so... having two hairless cats give me an incredible hook!

What is your take on this? Do you use emotional marketing? Do you think it's a bunch of crap? Do you think this a hype or do you believe that emotional marketing might last,because people are being sold to all day long?
