Hi, There are many threads I see here about "newbies" and why they fail or succeed.I am beyond the "newbie land",but just wanted to give my thoughts. A person is a newbie if he keeps thinking he/she is a newbie. And as a newbie we have all the excuses not to succeed. If this is the first time you heard about making money online, then you are a newbie, but if you have been to forums,if you have thoughts and ideas in your mind,if you know what PPC and adsense etc. mean, don't think of yourself as a newbie. I made any progress only after I got out of my newbie-state-of- mind.As a newbie you feel helpless, but if you think you do know about IM,you will no longer feel helpless.Of course you will try everything for the first time, but with a mind set of someone who has an idea what he/she is thinking. There are a million things to remember as a newbie.I remember just the 3 A's: 1.Avoid information overload, 2.Abandon the search for the secret formula that can make you millions tommorow, 3.Act-Now! Thats all there is to remember as a newbie. Thanks, Pinky |

This is very true point. People are suffering from information Overload!!! The problem today isn’t that there’s not enough information. There’s too much. You are right in your three points.

How do you avoid I.O.? If you're new how do you know what's correct and what's not? Once you know that then you can avoid I.O.. I think it's just part of the learning process. Once you get a little experince than you can FOCUS much better because you know exactly what you do and don't need. Somenoe just getting started has no idea. So it's natural to grab everything you can get your hands on. I.O. is not always a bad thing, not saying that you're implying that it is. Thanks for the BIG 3 tips. Good stuff, Quote:

You are right. Action is the ultimatum to success.

In relation to Information Overload, it's because marketers are great trend sellers ![]() Forget about trends, focus on the tried-and-tested. It will never be the most fun venture, but it's simple. Do this, do that, and expect X results, instead of worrying about "New" methods that will die out and be replaced by the newest hit a few months from now. Just take action and be proactive, thats the #1 rule of success, as long as you are doing something (writing articles, product creation, etc) then you will be much more closer to your goals then thinking about the next action you take. |

| Related to #1 and 2. Get off people's lists when every email is trying to sell you their latest product. I will qualify this by saying that I have been on one person's list for months because he does not try to sell me a product every time he emails me. I sign up for several email lists but I unsubscribe to them just as quickly

We are who we think and believe we are, so anyone who thinks they are a newbie and will struggle will experience that outcome. The Internet is a level playing field, but while so many people are selling products for "newbies" people will buy them believing they are a newbie. It is the same as all those vanity products with increasingly ridiculous sounding names and ingredients that make you think that without using the product you will look less attractive, young or desirable in some way - it becomes self-fulfilling. I speak often about Mindset because it is 90%+ of success. It is crucial to think success and wealth before you can experience it.

To be frank I think that if you come to this FORUM you can suffer from I.O. Let me explain. If you asked a question or any help here, hundreds of people will voice out their tips or opinion. They will say "I'm using this product..or I'm using that product".. and eventually you'll suffer from IO. That's why I've stopped coming here on daily basis unless I got my things (ex:articles, web promotion etc) done first. There're so many good threads around here that'll make you "stray" from your goal or work. This is the reason why most newbies keep jumping around from opportunities to a new 1 without sticking with 1.I've gone through the same thing before this.So before I start my day,I'll finish off my work first, then only I will visit this forum!!And if I found a good one that's related to my project or work,I'll save it in my desktop to review it later. |

Great advice! I would take the liberty of adding one more task to the above list... Research and then determine a proven online business plan or model. Then go about obtaining the step by step knowledge and resources necessary to conduct the model. This will go a long way towards getting rid of info-overload and confusion. Hope This Helps!! TL
