Automated Website's/Blogs

Hi, I would like to ask people on this Forum about their opinions about Website/Blogs which are totally automated. What do people on here think? What view does Google have about these websites? Is it possible to rank or make any money from one of these sites? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Do you mean content automatically scraped from other people's blogs ... autoblogs? They haven't been doing well for some time now. You want to make money blogging? Create a dynamite blog with real content.

Forget about Go0gle giving auto-blogs any love.

The only way you will possibly make them profitable and get traffic to them is
by using plug-ins such as SNAP and auto-tweet plug-ins and connecting them
to your LARGE twitter accounts, Facebook account, StumbleUpon account, etc.
so that each new auto-post gets sent out to those social accounts automatically as well.

You can also get the RSS feed of your auto-blog and connect it to FriendFeed to get auto-posted there as well.

But, I repeat, forget about Go0gle giving any sweet love (or traffic) to any auto-blog.

Automation and automated content = no value

    No value =.no money

Traffic is actually people and people BUY (only) when there is VALUE

Get to work and do it right. Create your own content that offers VALUE..... or hire someone to do it for you.

Stay away from the "auto blog" gimmicks.

In my coaching business, we do not allow our students to touch that stuff. That's because we are ONLY interested in what WORKS. We are not interested in what's fast, easy or free (unless it works).

Business has NEVER been "lazy mans" work - and IM is not an exception.

      Really?

I don't want to give too much away, but what if you could automate content presentation/production so that the content that comes from somewhere else is presented in a way that is much more pleasing to humans than it was on its original source(s)?

In other words, what if I can get content from different sources and display it on my sites in a way that is much better for end users? Is that of no value?

Automation is a wonderful thing and it brings you a lot of value every day.

Even if you find success using such methods, sooner or later.. most likely the former, your site will be penalized or even booted. You're better off hiring REAL people to write decent enough content before trying to rank.

But then again, when it comes to SEO, there are always loopholes.

Few fully automated sites, in my experience, rarely make significant money, The small number that are the exceptions are short-lived. My own use of automating plugins have been a pure waste of money.

Success lies with providing genuine quality information.

You won't rank well or make any money from such sites. Most of the time, it's duplicate content being published on automated blogs scraped off random websites. It's more rewarding if you make a semi-automated blog.

A semi-automated blog is akin to content curation. Find interesting posts and articles (you can automate this) and share them with your audience using a paraphrased excerpt with a link to the full post.

  • don't waste your time with autoblogs.

Content curation sites are still really popular, take any popular tech blog for examples, most of them are just reposting from other sources every day

Depending on which plugins are used and the content that is auto selected, a curation site can be created that is fully automated (hence an autoblog) and useful for visitors (thus has value), best of both worlds. A (curation) autoblog is OK with Google because the source of the value is not unique content, but the convenient compilation or cataloguing of valuable info in one place. This alternative, aggregating source of worth creates the exception that permits you to proceed to automate without hassles.

Non curated-format autoblogs also still have use, if they are designed from the ground up to get sustained traffic independent of search engine ranking. That means setting them up with 'auto-traffic' plugins that attract social media likes and other signals, sticky content (like controversial topics), viral videos, and other tie-ins. The decision as to whether to automate the content doesn't have to be held hostage to Google's approval.

They usually and mostly get penalized and banned in the long run, if you want to build a long lasting business, then you should look for something else.
