Is my domain too long?

I know this question has been asked before because I have been reading through them all, but I wanted opinions on my domain. The domain I own for my company is LandmarkContractingDesign.com. My company name is Landmark Contracting & Design. I was about to buy my hosting and I started to think about my domain. We don't sell products online just advertising our services and display our work. I understand I could buy similar domains and redirect but that is beside the point. I still need to advertise on t-shirts, business cards and trucks. Thank you for your time

I would say no. If the name of your company is "Landmark Contracting & Design" then "LandmarkContractingDesign.com" is perfect. If it were more than three words I might see how to shave it down, but this is fine.

No, your domain is not to long. If your company is Landmark Contracting & Design and you have that in the domain name then cool. Three words more and yes it would get a little long and hard to remember. But, your fine!

When you put it this way "LandmarkContractingDesign.com" it looks good not too long
but when you put it this way "landmarkcontractingdesign.com" yes it might be little long but not that bad

Just make sure you always write it the first way whether in your website's header or your business card or anywhere.

    That's just my opinion though

      Couldn't agree more!

I can't stand seeing people spell our their URLs or emails when they don't capitalize the first letter of every word. The worlds just jumble together when they're not capitalized.

I think that domain suits your purpose well. It's the name of your business after all. If you're worried about length...what about just using two words like landmarkdesign.com? Honestly, I think LandmarkContractingDesign.com is pretty good on its own.

As other warriors said that your have a good domain name and also it is not too long and I would like to add that most importantly it is memorable in the mean time so you don't have to feed any stress that is based upon the domain name.

Move ahead and build your business.

"LandmarkContractingDesign.com" you are mentioning three 3 words but actually your visitor will show landmarkcontractingdesign.com . I will not say it is bad becuse it also your company name. But it's too big. If you try to highlights those 3 words seperately in your website on various page then you can use it.

I think your domain name is ok, as your company name. But you can use abbreviations of your company name also, if you want.

Your domain is too long to be a brandable domain but as an exact match domain, the length is okay. I do register longer domains for my niche sites.

This domain name is not too long. And it is not spammy either. So in my view domain name is just what the doctor ordered for you.

Your domain is indeed too long and I would rebrand to either a shorter keyword domain or brandable domain name.

moneysavingexpert.com sold for $100 million. If you site is good, domain name length is immaterial.

The domain name is fine. I have several domains that are long but relate to long-tail keywords and a business with a rather long name. This has not affected traffic. In fact, one of the things I did early on was to truncate the name of the business and purchase that domain also. It turned out to be a waste of time and money using the shortened domain name.

Just be consistent with the use of the domain and company names.

Personally, if that is what the business is called then that is a perfect domain for it.

Granted, I understand the benefits of a short domain name... they are easier to remember. But as long as people can remember the business name, they will be able to remember the domain as well.

Looks good to me. I have a customer whose domain name is 30 characters (!) long but it's perfect for his business because it's an exact match of his business name.

The only thing that matters with your domain name is making sure that it's memorable. And, since your domain is the same as your business name, the person who is looking at it (whether on a T-shirt or business card or online ad), can easily use Google on a mobile to look up your company to read reviews. By branding your domain name with your company name, you are making it easier to establish trust with the potential customer as your name is linked on all online and offline efforts.

I don't think it's too long and there is no need for the "and."

It sounds like you are a local/specific area site?

If so, be sure to optimize specific keywords within the site itself as to where you are located and what services you are offering. The goal is that if someone hits just one or two of the words you are targeting that your site will be a first page result (using a general search), preferably above the fold.

If you are offering and providing things that people really want and your name is relative to that then you are in a good zone. People will find you. Word of mouth from completed work is going to be more important in the longer scheme of things.
