I'm considering 2Checkout, mainly as a Paypal alternative... Long story short I'm one of thousands of legitimate business owners who got the banhammer for no reason from Paypal after 6 years of being a model customer... I did nothing wrong, and I started a thread a few months back talking about it but I'd rather not bring it bump it back up here... This isn't an issue of why I was banned from Paypal (to be honest I have no idea), it's an issue of alternatives, so please don't bring it up... I'm considering 1shoppingcart or infusionsoft, but here's the deal... I've got some amazing products coming up, and while Clicbank is an option I'd like to do some testing before putting them up on Clickbank... And not having Paypal with product geared towards webmasters does hurt conversions. From what I understand 2 Checkout accepts Paypal... So say I'm running a WSO for a course on whatever, is it a good way to go? Any other thoughts or suggestions? Personal experiences? Thanks, -Scott |

The only thing I can tell you is that I had a customer get them years ago (so that's a good thing - they have been around a while). But they are not very quick to respond when questions are asked of them. She has had to email them and call them to get the help she needed. She always did get the help - but it isn't what she considered "timely". Respectfully, Nancy Roebke |

I would be curious to hear experiences with them as well, been thinking about them as an alternative. The big thing I like about PP is that money is only a ATM away. I don't think 2checkout can match that, can they? |

I "believe" that they have a re-loadable Mastercard they'll send you and funds can be automatically deposited on to it, not 100% on that though. -Scott |

I have been a customer of 2C.O for a number of years. they have a 24/7/365 chat where you can get most problems resolved. If they can't help you, they advise you to open a ticket which generally takes less than 8 hours for them to respond All in All I'm very pleased with their service Michael |

I've been with them for years, and if I have a question I just call them. They are really helpful. They also deposit checks straight into your bank. I'd recommend them.

I signed up... My first transaction through them was a 50% deposit for copy... Customer paid and I went off to celebrate the 4th of July weekend. Get an email on my Blackberry on the 4th because they don't "accept partial payments"... That pissed me off to say the least, because it was my first experience with them and this is a new client, so it looked bad on me as well. The client is fine with it and understands, no biggie there. And the 2CO customer service has been TOP NOTCH. I just have to "reword" it next time... I will consider staying with them, but I do have a few gripes. One, they automatically hold an extra 5% of each transaction in reserve. I can live with that. They also call EVERY customer at first to confirm orders, but they only do that until you're established... Kind of a pain, but I can deal with that. The only thing I like is that they accept Paypal and credit cards, and from my testing offering both helps conversions. Another gripe is that you can sell 5,000 products from one domain, but you need a new account for each new domain you want to sell from. That's definitely a pain. They do pay out weekly via ACH. Overall I may use them for some projects, but I'm looking into getting a "real" merchant account solution. Hope that helps someone out. Thanks, -Scott |

I don't know about any one else, but I sure appreciated the feedback Scott, thanks. Good to hear some first hand experience from a new user. Guess I won't be using them any time soon. Like you, I can handle the 5% hold back, but sure can't have them calling people before processing the order, gonna stop the sales process for me. I get enough people having a hard time when PP's IPN is not working right or not talking back right away. I do wonder though, how long they call customers, how long it takes from them to "trust" you. I agree though, would be nice to process credit cards, the one hurdle I come across with PP. |

Get a merchant account. 2checkout you pay 5.5% in fees clickbank you pay 7-9% in fees Your own merchant account you pay 2-3% in fees. 2checkout and clickbank are resellers. You have no control over the billing process and no control over the payment process. You also have to ask permission to sell your products. With a merchant account and a decent ecommerce system you are in charge, you run your business, and you don't have to ask people permission to sell products only to pay higher fees and run the risk of companies like clickbank and 2checkout changing their minds later on whether they let you sell a product or not. 2checkout is a great alternative... But it should only be used when you have no other choice. Otherwise you are giving away a % of your bottom line that you just don't have to do since you are in the US and can likely easily get a merchant account. |

I hate 2checkout. Their checkout process is a pain. Why do they have so many steps? One is all they need.
