How do you know if you're getting 'fuzzy' advice or real advice?

The fuzzy advice to me is people repeating 'wisdoms' but haven't really done enough to prove those wisdoms to themselves

Since people rarely give real examples for fear of copycats... it seems there's always a sea of fuzzy knowledge with an occasional expert now and then who attempts to clear the air.

Now this is a real struggle, I can imagine what you are going through right now, I actually struggled with a similar issue a long time before I finally walked away from the croud and started to do some useful work.

Take time out and pay attention to yourself some more...For me I had to walk away from the noise(especially from forums even WF), unsubscribe from several mailing lists (I even had to abandon one of my email addresses before I get the next email telling me to buy this or die)...and really think about your 10-15years from now - what would you like to be addressed as, what kind of impact would you like to make on the life of the people, what kind of picture do you see of yourself?

If you are in need of something to do to foot your bills, I suggest you go ahead and decide on one path then follow through aggressively till you start to see some earnings, then you can break away from it later on, you'll learn some decent lessons from the experience even if you don't stay with this. (I had to do this for several weeks too)

I don't know that there's anyone who wants to fail, you just cannot sit there and let your fear of failure stop you from taking action at all.
Learn as much as you can or find a mentor.
Test and Tweak and test and tweak.

That's my contribution, I know other warriors would contribute to this thread too.

I'm more comfortable with code than creating content.

I fell for WordPress, love to muck about creating sites but am not much on art or being a content filler. I'm shy also. LOL big help that is... so I've started my first 3 sites, one sells a service (I make eBook files for authors, it does ok for itself) the second is a blog (makes nothing) and the third is an author marketplace. That third site is currently in testing to ensure the author setup and purchase process is smooth, then I'll be learning how to optimize and drive traffic. Ok I like eBooks

My biggest obstacle so far has been finding something (widget) to feature! I'd like to start a new commerce site before Christmas - so I need something I can turn over, whether I have to invest in an order or just resell for someone. I need some pointers in that direction if you or anyone else has any
