Hi all, I joined today but am embarking on a new venture so I hope some of you can help. I wanted to get some advice on how to maximise the success of my Facebook and Twitter marketing. At the start of September my company will be running a huge dance music event for 10,000 attendees in a Aaborg, Denmark. We've partnered with MTV Denmark and will be running a lot of TV and Radio Ads in the run-up to the event, along with magazine and newspaper exposure. Obviously, these are very powerful media, but I'm sure we could utilise Facebook and Twitter more effectively to generate a buzz about the event. This is where I need help. These are the pages we have set up so far: 1) Facebook Profile: 2) Facebook Event: 3) Facebook Fanpage: 4) Twitter Page: (I set this up today) (I can't post links yet as I'm a new user but can PM them to you if it helps). My (uneducated) opinion is that this seems a little incoherent and could be improved but I have no idea where to start. Now here come the big questions. How can I maximise the effectiveness of Facebook and Twitter to: 1) Maximise Followers and Fans 2) Generate interest and create a "buzz" about the event 3) Maximise that probability that this will translate into ticket sales If there's any further info you need, please feel free to ask. Are there any other methods you would recommend I look into, to boost ticket sales and awareness? Are there any products you can recommend to help me? I'm a bit of a novice at this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated. |

If you want to market your product with Twitter, you can go to Twellow.com (Yellow Pages of Twitter-users) and search for people from Denmark or the european music scene. You can also do a specific Twitter-Search and use the search operator "near:" A full list of twitter search operators you can view here: Twitter Search Operators This will show you a list of tweets from people from Denmark. Send them a tweet and introduce your event to them. Or use the Twitter search with keywords of your music niche to find people who are tweeting about your keywords in real-time. Something like "MTV Denmark" OR "MTV" AND "dance music" OR "dance" Just play around a bit with the keywords, which describe your event best. I'm using Seesmic Desktop for such searches, because you can save your queries and the searches are being updated every few minutes (you can configure it). Hope this helps ! Mark |

Thanks for this, I've started doing this myself but would like to explore any other means to maximise exposure. Does anything else spring to mind? |

I was wondering if any twit tool out there that doesn't require the participant to give the User log in with pass to the script. |
