Basic Article Marketing Questions

I'm just starting to really get into this and recently purchased Automatic Article Submitter, but I have a few basic questions:

1. Should I make up multiple pen names?
2. Should I use real email and contact info for each pen name or is that not necessary?
3. Is it best to submit multiple diff. articles from mult. diff. pen names and email addresses or does that not matter?

I know I'll have a few more questions, but that's a start.

Personally even though i don't use any article distributers as my marketing approach is very refined and i actually don't do a hell of alot to get my sales or income however i can still answer your questions.

I personally use only one pen name per niche. Then i don't get confused and honestly save alot of time by not tying to think of loads of pen names.

I would use a real email however im not really sure what other contact information you would be required to give. If you have to give the same information for each account then someone could easily do a search and find all your niches.

This i think comes under duplicate content. Which for some people think its a myth and others think it isn't. It really depends what results you want from having your articles in loads of directory's. However it doesn't take too long to re-write them or even spin them.

Thanks for your reply. So I guess I'll create a separate email and pen name for each niche basically. I guess I can have multiple pen names under a single login, but it sounds like it's better to have a separate account with each directory per niche? Also, wrt to the dupe content issue, I guess the question is whether or not there's some kind of penalty for publishing the same exact article to multiple directories? I don't see how that can really be the case, since the articles get republished elsewhere and syndicated etc. Then my next question is, is it not wise to submit an article to several hundred directories at once? Should I spread them out over time? What's a good pace?

If you targeting a single niche then i think use real name/email,etc.But if you targeting a multiple niches then multiple pen names is best.

Hello & welcome to article marketing!

I do tons of article marketing & I agree with the above about separate pen/niche - but do make it broad, just for your own sanity

If you have a generic domain/web page set up, you can create your email addresses this way, i.e. johnny@webworld, beth@webworld, ginger@webworld and so on . . .

Then, as you build your niches you can have one genericish (new word?) niche site/niche & then create new email addresses at those niche related sites.

I believe Ezine Articles does not allow multiple accounts & does have an area where you can add "Pen Names." You'll want to double check, but I've always just used their pen name option.

I'd check with other places too before creating all new accounts. That being said, part of my marketing is using an article submitter. I manually submit to Ezine & I know there's another one, but can't think of it right now, sorry, then I rewrite article to around 50-60% unique & mass submit. You kind of want to treat Ezine with kid gloves, they're a bit "High maintenance."

    Hope that helps!

It sounds like the easiest thing to do is to have a single "account" (login/pass) with each directory and then multiple pen names, rather than go through the hassle of creating a separate acct. for each niche. I'm assuming each Pen name can generally have its own email address to differentiate them.

The only way I submit articles is with a service called EzineArticles.com. You basically go there and you get your article viewed by others which means that if someone likes your article, they may add it to their website. Doing this will get you free traffic and backlinks to your website.

    How I do it:

    - one pen name per niche (unless niche is VERY competetive, in which case I may use aditional pen names to reduce trackable footprint for competitors. I hate those guys.)
    - multiple articles per niche/pen name
    - 'real' gmail-type addresses that forward to one central address so I can review and respond if necessary
    - unique articles to top-tier article sites
    - dupes/spins with spun titles and bios for 2nd-tier sites
    - Always publish articles to my own sites FIRST, submit to article sites after Google has me listed.

    Works pretty darned good.

I follow the same concept and it helps
me keep track of what I'm doing when
and what affiliate programs I'm promoting.

I haven't been doing this for very long,
however, this works well for my sanity.

Thanks Randy. Do you have a single account with each directory with multiple pen names, or multiple accounts?

Also struggling a bit with Automatic Article Submitter. I created a pen name and clicked on Mass Register, but it just attempted to register about 4-5 directories and 2 of them failed. So now I am going through each one of the 300 or so and registering manually. So much for saving time! I must be doing something wrong.

I just have one account with the different article directories. I only use 3 different directories so that I don't multiple content and I dont have to deal with changing titles and changing bits of content.

I alos only use one pen name so far as I have not yet had the need to really branch out much past my main niche. Going into other markets though I would totally be adding a new pen name.

Is it really worthwhile to submit to hundreds of directories or am I better off just concentrating on like the top 5-10 consistently?

The best 5 or so will do (this list is debatable).
I have never had success submitting to low quality directories. Focus on the ones that work, plus adding content to your own sites.

Just as many have mentioned, If you're running multiple niches that are un-related, then different pen names for every niche will be ideal... You may also want to use these pen names on your website as well, just to give it an over all flow.

    Cheers

I use one pen name. That way your name becomes known as an authority and you can build a customer base that actually subscribes to your articles.

So I ended up getting a refund for Automatic Article Submitter and I signed up last night for Unique Article Wizard. They are very pricey, but I figured I can try them out for 30 days and see if it's worthwhile. I also remembered that I had signed up for one of Brad Callen's promo's a while back that got me a free version of Article Submitter Platinum and his Article Spinner (which I'm just redeeming now). So I've got those now as well and will compare/contrast.
