Biography - 1st person or 3rd person?

by 5 comments
I'm working on a website which offers web design and online marketing services to offline businesses. For the biography, should I use 1st person or 3 rd person? Any advice on writing a good bio page for this niche?

Thanks!

I wouldn't spend any time worrying about it, especially at the cost of delaying getting your business going. Just throw something up that includes your relevant experience. You can update it anytime you want later, if you feel the need.

Third person is for biographies which is the story of someone else's life.

First person is for your autobiography, which is your story.

Oh, I see now. Your thread title had the word 'biography' in it so I thought that was what you were asking at first.

Yes, for the bio, you'll want to do third person.

Thanks for all! The reason I asked this question is because I see some websites use 3rd person and some websites use 1st person when it comes to "About Us" page. So, not sure which one is better. May be I use the word "biography" incorrectly.

If you want to write a biography - that should always be in third person.
But in about us section, you should use first person plural- we, us etc

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

Hello guys! I began trying to make a little side cash online and joined Warrior Forum back in 2011. In 2012 I was making Adsense Micro Niche sites and also Amazon sites, always focusing on keywords that I could grab an open .com domain name for. I had many flops, but did have an amazon site that did well and make me about $100 a month on average. I got excited and began writing more and more articles, creating more and more sites. Eventually my marriage hit a rough spot because my wife was upset I spent way to much time on the computer so I walked away from the micro niche site world... Fast forward 4 years, the marriage didnt work out anyway and I wish that I would have never left, I now feel like I have so much to learn all over again! Are Amazon sites still a decent way to go? I woulnt ask for anything to be spoon fed to me I know that is a huge pet peeve for many forum members, but any suggestions or just pointing in a general direction would be greatly appreciated!

What would you write on your blog when you haven't even launched your product? I looked at 10 blogs and saw that most of them wrote about 'How they achieved and X metric' (non-relevant to the product), culture and other stuff when the whole idea is to gain more 'beta interests'! As a marketer, what will you do? In other words, what will be your content marketing strategy?

I'm investigating running my own affiliate program. One of the issues I'm running in to is the capturing of social security numbers. In the United States a company is required to issue a 1099 for any affiliate who earns more than $600 a year. To do this I would need their social security number. I worry about storing social security numbers and the potential liability if someone hacked the website and got a hold of them.
