Default Crashed & Burned with Digg

Just tried to log into my Digg account only to receive this message
Your account is invalid

If you have any questions, please contact support@digg.com

I'd just started last week leaving one of my url with relevant comments in old popular related digg stories as suggested by one of the senior warriors here.

That Digg account was over a year old, had been used to digg a number of articles/videos etc and had a number of friends. Definitely not a fake or spam account.

Looks like Digg is cracking down on people using it for IM. Anyone else had similar experiences?

I have the same problem.

In fact, from my main laptop I cannot even
log into Digg any longer. I get an error (the
pop-up login screen does not come up) and
it says to contact support. I'm curious to
know if I have had my IP blocked.

Who would give you that kind of advice?

Anyone who has been around Digg for an extended period of time would know that Digg, and especially it's regular users, don't put up with to much crap.

What that person was telling you to do was comment spam Digg in hopes of attracting visitors to your website.

I don't care if you wrote a step-by-step blueprint giving people the secret to the universe in a Digg comment section and left your link... there is a 99.9% chance it will be flagged and you will get banned (even on older Digg stories).

It might take awhile but it will happen...

You were spamming not internet marketing.

Then make at least 20 new accounts and post spam. They wanted spam, so give it to them.

That's what I do (not with Digg though, but with some free blog sites).

In my opinion Digg traffic is more or less useless when it comes to IM. Digg users are killing time, not looking to buy. Forget about chasing social traffic and work on good search engine placement.

I agree with you as far as traffic goes. The purpose is link juice/back links.

I've found social traffic like Digg to not be worth much anyway. Vey unmotivated traffic that hardly even clicks on Adsense.
