Hi!

In my marketing activities, I sometimes encounter the so-called 'pre-landing' pages, which exist between the ad and the real landing page. This pre-landing page often looks like a forum thread or someone's personal page where he/she describes their personal positive experience in using the advertised product.

I understand that it's not my country's know-how, but originates from the international online marketing techniques. So is there a good name for such a page in English?

Thanks for your advice!

    Pre-sell.

It really doesn't matter what it's called, it's just the marketers attempt to "warm" the prospect and provide social proof that what's coming really does work. Sometimes the pre-sell makes sense . . . sometimes it comes across as a self-promoting, self-indulging bunch of rubbish.

    A review.

A review is the content of that page. But how those pages are called in general is pre-sell, as Steve was so kind to advise. And now I can google enough references to a 'pre-sell page' to be sure it's the right term

Actually a pre-sell page and a review page are two different things. I use many pre-sell pages and none of them are reviews. A review page is technically a pre-sell page but a pre-sell page is not necessarily a review.

        So, thanks for the clarification.

Definitely, whatever you call it, don't let the terminology get in the way of what you're actually trying to accomplish. Have a purpose in mind for everything you do in your marketing. And be genuine and helpful!
