You can use Audacity (free) and read it into the microphone.

In the "WINDOWS" There is a built in software, you can check it, if you want. So You need to go to control panel. In the control panel there is a "SPEECH" option. you need to double click on the SPEECH. then copy your content from the E-book. it will create your writing as a sound. in this time you can record the sound/ voice.

Hi Alaynaaleah, are you referring to the 'speech recognition' software?

      Thanks

I actually use Camtasia to do this.

Sure, it's "meant" for video - but, it works as a great audio editor as well and it even has nifty noise leveling features.

You can't automate this. You have to read it in. A large project can take a lot of time to get right. If your audio will run .5 hours it would take me about 2.5 hrs to get it decent, more if it has to be really good.

I just use Audacity or Sony Vegas, but you could also use Cam Studio if you know how to strip the audio out of the video file. The software really isn't important. The important thing is to have a quiet place, no fans, no aquariums, etc. Most mics are good enough. If you have the option a desk top computer will tend to pick up less computer noise. Also no lemonade before you read.

Your best bet would be to do the work manually - this way you can be sure to keep errors to a minimum and you won't be offending blind people by making them listen to a robotic voice, your hard work will pay off.

Before you record your article, it's a good idea to rewrite it so it flows better. When articles that are written to be read to yourself, silently, are read aloud, they can sometimes sound "wrong".
