All-In-One: Freelancing sites - can we make a list?

Hi Warriors,

I am looking to make a list of freelancing websites of all types - local or international, specialized or general, free or paid, whatever country or language. Frankly, I have an idea about a twist to make some money on them, so I would like to test everything out and eventually either share my idea here or create a WSO if everything goes well. In the latter case, all contributors to this thread would be given a copy for free indeed

I will just start the list with the ones most popular I know and with one running in my country:

Elance.com
Odesk.com
Freelancer.com
Easytask.cz

Looking forward to see more!

Many thanks for contribution

Miro

Thank you all for your ideas, your lists give me a lot of work on testing.

I don't know this yet unfortunatelly, it will all depend on the results of my testing. I will let you all know in this thread, if you want to bookmark it, but it may take a couple of months.

      Thanks again!

I think the alexaalexandra9 provides a good list of the popular freelancing sites list. You can sue the list, if you choose. Personally I like the list. I know most of the site name. I hope the list will make you a good list.

This is a nice thread - It might be worthwhile for the OP to change the Title to include the "All-in-One" tag now that there is a good collection of links here - that way it will show up with the others,

and, perhaps modify the original post to include all the sites listed so far? (giving credit to contribution where due).

I wrote a book that had a lot of different sites listed. There are also many different threads on this topic and some sites that list over 50 different sites.
I have some copies of people's books with lots of sites so if anybody wants them, let me know and I can either give them to you (if permitted) or tell you where to get them.

In my opinion, bidding for projects can be a very foolish way of acquiring clients.

But then again, that's a nice list, to be honest!

    Keep it up.

Foolish? That depends on how you do it. My first ever writing job was from a bidding site...That was nearly 5 years ago and I am still working for that person. Nowadays I rarely do work for bidding sites but I did a lot of work when Vworker was a separate entity and I was still struggling to find work.

I agree, bidding for projects is just as the same as selection procedures seen for instance between a governments and even the biggest corporations all over the world, this is just for a little lower money
