Best Web page font style, size, width, anyone?

Warriors,

I am in need of some help based on deciding how to buff and shine my site. I have a new minisite template on order which will replace my header, footer, order button. This is the same fellow that did my "Miracle Water Car" eBook cover on my site. What I need help with is choosing a better font style and size. My pages are also set for 700 width and I need to know if this is the best width size. As stands, my site is hard on the eyes to read but if I get this right, then I can do a total rewrite on my sales page. Please advise... Thanks, site is at GasFest.com

    Ideally you will want to go with a black font on a white
    background, sans serif type style such as Arial, Courier
    or Gothic (my personal favorites but there are others).
    You want your site to be pleasing to the eye, and if it
    is geared towards boomers, you might consider using a
    larger font. Font styles/sizes can always be changed so
    this is not a decision that should hold up completion of
    your project.

      With what I observed on your site, it appears that it is only the upper portion of your website which is hard on eyes to read. The upper portion (right from the beginning till it ends at

      "Sincerely,
      Lance Groom", just before the line "Just look at the average...") requires some changes.

      Here is what I would do :

      (1) First of all, there is no need of links on the top (Home, About, FAQ ...etc). They are already present on the bottom of page. Your main aim should be to motivate your visitors to read your sales page. No distraction by giving them links in the start itself.

      (2) Secondly, there is no logic of mentioning about Bonus at the start when the person don't even know about your prime offer. It is also a distraction.

      (3) The first paragraph (CONGRATULATIONS! You've landed ...) and the video are lying adjacent to each other. Let them come one by one. I got confused whether I should read the paragraph or watch the video. Logically, the paragraph should come first followed by video (not together).

      (4) The first paragraph is written in Times New Roman where as all subsequent paragraphs are written in Georgia. Maintain uniformity. I would use Georgia Font throughout the sales letter and use Arial (10 pt) for links. Times New Roman is a strict no no.

      Apart from the above, the rest of the sales letter is quite good. Just make the font size inside the testimonial blocks uniform.

        Personally, I don't like serif fonts for web pages. I prefer sans-serif type and I use either Verdana or Arial fonts. I think they are easier to read. I keep type size either 10 or 12 px which I convert to em. Also you want a style that will work with everyones browser: mac, windows etc. These are standard that work across the board.

        I also noticed on your site that you are all over the place with inline and embedded css styles. I either keep them in the header or use an external style sheet.

          Thanks alot for your keen advice, ALL of you. My head just went BOOM for a moment on how I can easily correct this. I had a friend run my pages through dreamweaver and get rid of some stair stepping issues now my code is so whacked and all spread out I can hardly find where I am at inside my HTML. Is there a way to straighten this code out fast so that I can see it better to make the changes?

          Also, can't do dreamweaver yet my GF went a little crazy when I wanted to spend more money @!#$. Any trial version or other website creator trial version I can get a quick in and out with to make these changes you all have suggested?

            I USE DREAMWEAVER BUT I DID NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, I GOT IT AS A GIFT FROM A FRIEND. YES, IT CAN BE COSTLY. SORRY ABOUT THAT.

      I appreciate that! Yeah, my Georgia font with my <span> codes make things a bit too bold...

    I think you need a big title after your header image, for example this text "Convert Your Car TODAY to Run on Water and gas to save over 40% on fuel costs!" you can change the font with IMPACT font and make it large, maybe about 24.

    So, it will interest a visitors to read your next sales letter.

    Frontpage is a very easy html program to edit your text, color, etc. I am already use this software for a long time.

      hey guys,

      this might be me being dumb but Ill ask anyway...

      What do your bonuses have to do with your main product?? The main product is "how to run your car on water" and the bonus are how to make money online? Would other resale rights products not fit in better?

      btw, I like the salespage the only thing if it were me is i'd change the actual template to one with maybe rounded corners and loose the straight edges, they seem a bit harsh to me and a little dated.
