My name wasn't always Caliban Darklock. It used to be Patrick Pinatiello. ![]() Just do it. Some people will be put off, but you're still the same person - just by a different name. You'll still offer the same great help and provide the same great value. The people who get weird about it and don't want to hang out with you anymore were never really your friends anyway. |

You could just keep the old name. There's no reason not to use an alias online. But if you want to use your real name, I agree, just do it.

Maybe instead of changing your last name, you could just drop it. Your first name is interesting, kind of unique and presents some interesting branding possibilities. Thanks, John |

Shlomi, If you want to drop your last name, then do it. You could just follow in the footsteps of Michalis Kotzakolios, known on the forum as "BIG Mike". He writes his name as: Michalis "BIG Mike" Kotzakolios He does this in most, if not all his correspondences and on his site at incansoft.com Hope it helps, Virginia |

Lots of women continue to use their pre-marriage "maiden name" after they are married, particularly if they have made their professional under that name. You could do the same, as long as it doesn't bother you or your wife that your professional and personal names are different.

I have been going by usernames of HeySal and signing as much as possible on my work just as Sal. Hoping eventually I can just dissociate from the last name altogether. Never know if I'll decide to marry again or not but either way I want to ditch the last name before too much longer. | |

I agree... your first name definitely has potential for branding. I think you shouldn't bother with changing your last name... just drop it and use your first!! :-)
