An "honest marketer?"

Is there such thing?
I'm not so sure.
I have seen lies, exaggerations and more lies.
I have seen someone create a product, only for a big shot marketer to bounce along, take 75% of profit and then demand that they don't work with any other promoter.

I have seen fake promises, products, services and people that don't deliver.

I know it's business, but the lack of honesty is shocking.

Feeling jaded!

    Define honest?
I've seen lack of taking action and blaming.
I've seen people buy products over and over and not do anything with it.
I've seen people buy products and not promote products

I've seen people succeed buying products while everyone else fails...

Of course this is business... And the lack of taking action is shocking...

Look, anyone who has been in the game long enough and are successful as a marketer KNOWS the real reason why people fail...
It's NOT the products... bad product? Ask for a refund, simple!

    It's the marketer, period.

I'll be an honest marketer now for you if you want.

I've created a few thread with this account and a lot more with random accounts but you can check it out for yourself..

If you type CB Passive Income or 5 Figure Day into Google. You will see threads that belong to warrior Forum ranking on top.. Those threads are making me passive income..

Now here is the trick to creating them...

    1. Head over to JVNotifypro and look for upcoming product launches...

    2. Email the vendor or try and get some information from the product and write a cool review about the product..

    3. Don't worry about backlinks and just let the authority of WF rank itself...

Now here is the REAL questions...

Are YOU going to do it? Or any newbie reading this thread for that matter?

Answer is probably no... True story...

So it's not about being honest or not. It's about treating it like a business and taking action.

Hope this can change your mindset when it comes to Internet marketing. As you said, it's a business. If you want to succeed bad enough. You actually DON'T NEED to buy products.

I don't think a marker is any more or less honest than anyone else in any other industry. Regardless of the business you will find both very helpful and untrustworthy people. In fact you'll find them all over the place throughout your daily life, not just business professionals.

You're probably hanging out in the WSO area of the forums.

Think about how much stuff is marketed online....everything. From big brands to you sitting behind your computer.

Sure there are lies, but - Internet Marketing is NOT selling Internet Marketing products - it's marketing that occurs online as opposed to print, tv, radio and other media platforms - that's all.

It comes down to a few choices.

    1) You can devise your own business plan.
    or
    2) You can buy someone else's plan.

At some point you need to take accountability for yourself and have your own plan.

There are some bad products out there no doubt, but each one of us is individually responsible for our own successes and failures and no one else.

I wish you luck finding what you are looking for.

All good points. And it's not just IM. There are scammers and people with a lack of integrity everywhere.

I have been in business for a while. I have met a lot of different people. Out of the hundreds of people that I have encountered, I can think of only 3 with integrity. On the flip side, I have seen folk acting like nothing more than pimps and trying to strip folk for everything they have and then move onto their next victim.

I'm an action taker and I take responsibility for my deeds. It just ticks me of when I see folk selling crap products and trying to shaft people.

Yeah Liz there is a lack of integrity in IM. But there is a lack of Integrity basically in all facets of Life.

Medicine, Police Authority, teachers, business people etc...

I do know there are some really tremendous people in this business. Who really believe in what they are doing and go out of their way to help others.

And if they make some money doing it, then thats all the better.

I would not let it get to you and overly focus on the negative.

Be one of the good ones and move forward and be an example to others of how your are supposed to do things

    I'll be honest here...

There are marketers out there who lie (a lot) but there are also good marketers who are honest and stay true to their ethics. You just need to find where they are.

Moreover marketers has a hobby of playing with words. They are not lying but the words they tell you can also be perceived or understood wrongly if you are not careful about it.

That's why you have to learn how to read between the lines

I'm not saying it's right or wrong but that's why they are called marketers.

    Who cares?

Be the honest marketer you want to see. You can talk/type until you're blue in the face, but you can't force someone to change if they don't want to change. But you can control you. Do you think honest marketing is the best way? Prove it to yourself and others. Change is slow, but if you don't make the effort you can't win.

I honestly believe that IM industry is a very large community and because of that each and everyone of has a different ethics and values that is why these kinds of things might happen.

To some this is totally normal but to others this is not.

IM is just like any other business out there really. Some have higher ethical standards than others, but ultimately I believe that integrity is one of the key pillars of any business that wants to trade on a long term basis. Then again you read a trashy newspaper like The Sun that is all about headlines and everything about moral standards really just goes out the window.

Here is a blog post for seth godin author of "all marketers are liars"
"Just to be clear, especially if you're just joining us:
The truth is elusive. No one knows the whole truth about anything. We certainly don't know the truth about the things we buy and recommend and use.
What we do know (and what we talk about) is our story. Our story about why use, recommend or are loyal to you and your products. Our story about the origin and the impact and the utility of what we buy.
    Marketing is storytelling.
The story of your product, built into your product. The ad might be part of it, the copy might be part of it, but mostly, your product and your service and your people are all part of the story.
    Tell it on purpose."

Yes there are genuine liar out there and genuine marketers. By the end of the day you need to figure and ask for proofs and testimonials from coaches or mentors you chose. They are there to help but also there to make a sale.

This is business 101 and you can have the biggest following and brand or traffic but if you cant sell, you should call your boss and ask for your job back

Don't worry about what others are doing, only think of what's you feel right doing. For instance, if others are OK with scamming, that's their problem, not yours. Just don't be the person that gets scammed. Do what feels right in your heart, rather than concerning yourself with the iniquities of others.

This exactly. I was so jaded starting out, thinking that all these people are liars and exaggerators. I hated it so much, I nearly left the industry! However, I discovered that I don't have to slip down to their level, and that if I make sure I don't and just tell people like it is, I'm more likely to build a relationship with others.

There are a lot of products out there that promise the world and fail to deliver...

Many people want overnight riches and click a button and make $10,000 type of products...

There's a lot of hype out there, because, unfortunately, people are desperate and are looking for a solution.

It's the same reason casinos make so much money...

These sales letters that promise the world do a good job playing on our emotions, but the systems inside the courses "don't work" because people don't want to put time, effort, and work into making money online.

With all of that being said, there are a lot of HONEST and ETHICAL marketers...

...even in the MMO/Biz opp space, although they generally don't promise $10,000 tomorrow by clicking the easy button on your desk and dancing around in circles for 2.68 seconds.

Can you make a lot of money online?

    YES!

Can you click a button and make a lot of money online?

    NO!

At least, not until you've done the work to build a following that will buy what you send them... with a click of a button...

I mentioned it in another thread, but many people think they need to sell MMO/Biz opp products when they start out, because a product told them to do it.

Because of this, there is a lot of theory, hype, and courses that fall flat in the MMO/Biz opp space.

Although done ethically, there is money to be made in the MMO/Biz opp space, there is even more money to be made in markets outside of this space.

Having success online really boils down to some simple steps... everything else is just tactics on how you can do it...

    You need...

    1. Something to sell (product/service)
    2. A market that wants to buy what you want to sell them (NEED)
    3. A method for putting your product/service in front of this market

Solo ads, PPC, SEO, cold calling, JVs, list-building, product creation, PLR, keyword/market research, etc. are all just tactics that can be a part of the 3 items I listed above.

The best way to get started is to do the above...

    1. Find a need
    2. Fill the need
    3. Get your solution in front of those people

Then, if you need help along the way, buy/absorb information that helps you do the above more efficiently...

I became a lot less frustrated when I dug in, tested, and implemented... Not saying you're not already doing this, but like anything else, if you put daily systems in place, you will find success.

    Hope this helps a bit,

    Josh

Stop falling for people who promise the world.

Remember that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Keep that in mind and you'll save yourself from 99% of the 'scams' out there.
