A Newbie Seeking for Help

Hi everyone,

I'm very new into this Internet Marketing stuff. I've done some PPC campaigns without big success and I've found that it isn't suitable for me at my current financial situation.

In fact, I dabble into this IM world for freeing my mum from suffer as she's been working really hard for my studies fees and expenses. I do a lot of part-time jobs but it just won't come out any solutions to the problem.

I'm serious about learning and also willing to commit myself into this. So are there any ways that which do not need something like PPC advertising to get started with?

I'd like to get myself into organic traffic like SEO. Unfortunately SEO seems need to have lots of time and effort in order to see some decent results. So basically are there any other alternatives that I can effectively drive FREE traffic to my affiliate sites?

I know it very clearly as every success needs a lot of efforts, in fact I'm willing to do it. Yet I'm just trying to seek for better way to do it faster and practically see results in a shorter time.

I really hope that any seniors here could shed me light/hints. This will be very much appreciated.

Any kinds of inputs will be welcome.

Thank you in advance.

Your questions are very broad.. there are tons of ways to make money online.. but to be honest with you, 99.9% require money. If you dont have money then I suggest getting back into your part-time jobs and saving up so you can start.

There are free ways but it takes a lot of time and energy. For example, you can go to clickbank and pick an item to promote. Then write articles about it and submit them to directories to get traffic. Thats just one method.

I second that. I'm just starting out too, but it's hard to write articles on something you're just not passionate about. Even if you don't have the passion, at least try to market around something you've tried, or would like to try...you'll discover that the words come much easier that way.

Try article marketing. It will really test you to see whether or not you are cut out for Internet Marketing. It is tough, time consuming, and it takes awhile before you learn the ropes and finally see any reward. If you can succeed in article marketing, you are all set.

    And it's free to start!

Just my two cents. Feel free to bash on my article marketing advice, you know who you are...

    Hi ZTSJourney,

Getting started without much (or any) money is possible in internet marketing, but of course it's easier with a larger budget.
    • As some of the other folks above said, I'd recommend starting by identifying a niche that you personally care a lot about. This sounds self-serving but is actually the best place to start because you are more likely to keep at it if you are excited about the topics or products you promote.
    • Try some self-analysis to find your personal interests, then use Google's free keyword research tools to identify the best keywords associated with them. ("Best" in this context means words and phrases related to your topic that a) generate lots of searches by people across the web each day but b) have less competition from already existing sites.)
    • Once you identify your niche and appropriate keywords, start a free blog or low cost web site that prominently uses those keywords. This basic approach to SEO will help you gain a foothold in the search engine rankings to begin attracting a trickle of free traffic.
    • You might start by publishing articles and blog posts that serve a common product or service interest of your target market. Once you have a helpful, informative site created, you can then add affiliate ads for relevant products that meet those customer needs.
    • Visit Clickbank.com or join Commission Junction or Amazon.com's affiliate programs (also free) to get started.
This approach can get you started in Internet marketing for almost zero cash cost.

Results may be slower than if you had thousands of dollars to promote your site and offers, but starting with less resources can actually be an advantage because it forces you to be very efficient with your efforts.

    I hope that's helpful.

I started this 5 months ago and I have spend very little money. I was laid off from my job and my back was against the wall. In 3 weeks I made enough to pay my rent and utilities and eat. So be inspired, it can happen, but its a big learning curve. I go to some of these threads and they are way over my head, but eventually I will get there. I did this with clickbank, squidoo, a blog, article marketing and forum postings in my niche. I have reinvested the money into SBI because I think it getting time for me to get a real site. I know its another thing for me to learn, but this is what I do now.
