Less Sketchy Looking Sales Pages Than Your Garden Variety IM Sales Letter?

I would like to create a landing page/sales page which is very different from most of these really unattractive and spammy looking sales pages that most people on this forum are using. I know it works well if you use snake oil salesman tactics in the IM niche (ex: make $5,000 a day in your underwear from the comfort of your own home type bs.) but outside of that a lot of other niches do not seem to convert well with these sort of sales letters because they look really ugly and usually like straight up scams.

The niche I am interested in is stock trading / forex trading. Most of the people selling products in this niche are con artists and the junk they sell does not work. They also try to use the same sort of IM based sales pages and I don't want anything to do like these people are doing

I am looking for examples of sales pages, landing pages or squeeze pages which are professional looking. If anyone knows of any please let me know. Thanks.

PS: if you are one of these internet markets using the type of pages I mentioned no offense, it just doesn't seem to work well for most other niches or the conversion rates are very low.

So you are looking for pages that look good and make you feel good
but doesn't sell? Up to this point you haven't said anything about
what is EFFECTIVE just what looks good to you. Would you
be selling to yourself? Have you tried the "spammy looking pages"
as yet and they didn't work?

Yes I have tried the spammy looking pages for 2 years and have made about $40k selling a product during that time which is okay but considering I offer a product that actually works it should have been much more then this. It was passive income for me so I never really took it serious but now I really would like to see if I can step things up. The one thing most of my customers have said to me is "You know I was very skeptical when I first found your website. Your website looked scammy like all of the other ones, but I know now that you aren't a con artist like many other people that sell online. I referred my friend to you but they were very skeptical and only purchased your product because they trusted me, but they said your website looked un-trust worthy." Numerous people have said the same sort of thing to me over the last 2 years.

I worked at a bank and they have pro web pages. Mostly they abhor bright colors, using blue and gray. Try to make your pages look pro. IM goes heavy on hot red, bright yellow, and even FLAMING orange. Oh wow, these gaudy circus colors scream scam. Do not use any. Keep it on the up and up.

    Meaning what exactly?

    professional looking
Is in the eye of the beholder. People say your site looks bad, ask them what would make them feel like it could be trusted. They're the ones you're trying to impress.

Here's an example of a salesletter based around Web2.0 Standards. It seems to be fairly common in the gaming niche:
Tycoon - In-Game Gold Maximization Addon — Dynasty

    Another one, also for WoW:
    Zygor Guides

It's really ironic that you call MMO snake oil and stock and forex trading legit. The biggest criminals on the planet play in that quagmire.

I am a professional trader and have been consistently profitable for a decade. Yes it's true that the stock trading/forex niche and Wall Street as a whole, are criminals which is why a person with a legitimate product can make money in this niche but these ugly IM like sales letters do not convert well from my experience.

Who cares if a site looks rough around the edges, basic and not "professional".

If it converts, it converts. End of story.

      Not necessarily.

Yes, conversion is the primary measurement of success of a sales page. But...

      1. Conversion is influenced more by good design than it used to be. Like all markets, the IM market has matured/evolved and good design greatly influences conversion.

When you're promoting an intangible product (virtual products) or service, good graphics carry even more weight. People are highly skeptical, so the more you can do to make your offer feel tangible and "real", the better your conversion will be.

Loud, red headlines with bold yellow highlighting no longer convert as well...

      2. Some markets require better design for credibility.

A sales letter for a lawyer or an accountant, for example, needs to look REALLY good. A cheesy design used to sell a hype-y $47 ebook WON'T cut it.

The design greatly reflects on the person/company's credibility and professionalism. So often, even though a sales page might technically convert, if the design is horrible/cheesy/whatever, the person isn't likely to approve it because it harms their professionalism and credibility in the process.

That is VERY important, although admittedly, more important in some markets than others.

Agree so much with the OP. I cringe hard at 90% of sales pages I see and my reaction is a strong "do not trust this, sickening sh#t.". I think it's actually put me off getting into it

You can make clean, nice looking sales pages with something like OptimizePress. You can also look on Themeforest for "landing page" themes: landing page | wordpress Templates & Themes | ThemeForest

You should look at other converting sales pages selling similar products and model those.

Despite your personal feelings, you should do what converts...

With that being said, you should obviously be ethical, tell the truth in your copy, etc.

    But, do what works!

That's the problem. As far as I can tell there's nobody else offering a legitimate product like I am in my niche. They all are scams and I am not just saying this. I can't model my page after someone else because of this.

  • Design, as long as it is tasteful and fits the purpose of the site, doesnt matter that much. If you have a good product, frame it around a compelling offer, and the copy drives the point home, then you will make sales regardless of whether your headline is red or blue.
