Solo Ads, What works best

What would you suggest would perform best for sales.

A) Sending solo ads to a free lead magnet squeeze page with OTO selling info product

or

B) Sending solo ads to a product sales page with an exit script offering first 30 pages of ebook for free squeeze page.

Interested to hear your comments.

  • The answer is to test and find out, I'm sure that is not what you want to hear. If you want affiliates on clickbank then it's #2 you don't have to test but if you are generating leads you need to test it could be #1 (often is).

I think exit scripts where only popular when they had the element of suprise.

Now when I close an offer tab, I automatically move my mouse towards the center of the page, like a preemptive strike against the pop up.

Give something away for free, build a relationship with those leads, and then you can sell them whatever you like, for as long as you like.

Custom sales funnel is always the best route for solo ads. Then you need a follow up email sequence building relationship and back end high products every so often.

  • One more thing take a look at Stansberry research video that sells $47 info product, there is no squeeze or exit pot, the way to get "squeezed" on the list is the $47, if you don't you're usless to them and they don't want you. Not sure if this have it still End of America video if they do check it out. the squeeze page is the $47!

What works for me is Squeeze Page then redirect them to OTO then a follow up on sequence. There is only a few Solo Ad seller that allows sending emails directly to sales page. and moreover if you do Sales Page > Exit Squeeze Page you'll get less leads.

My results with solo ads and it might be different from you is it converts at 1 - 2% at an average sometimes lower. (it really depends on the seller)

So if you buy 100 - 200 clicks and send it directly to a sales page (Assuming the seller agreed with it) you'll get 2 - 3 sales + a few leads. (20 - 40 leads) and follow up with them and get 1 more sale if you're lucky.

On the other hand if you redirect them to a squeeze page chances you'll get 100 leads. 1 - 3 sales upfront and another 1 -2 sales if you're lucky.

Not much of a difference if we are talking about low numbers but if you scales it up (1000- 5000 clicks) and choose option 1. you'll get almost the same sales with option 2. However in option 2 you'll get more leads which you can do a cross sell or offer another product you want and you have a chance to turn the leads that didn't buy into a buyer.

      Great insights here.

I'd just add: you can also sell solos to your leads when you can get enough clicks.

Bottom line, both approach works, but for solo ads, the option A is the only one.

    Here's how I do it.......

    1. A squeeze page to get an optin
    2. After opt in, they get the OTO

NOW HERES WHERE THIS GETS DIFFERENT AND POWERFUL....

I have Facebook advertiser codes in both the squeeze page and OTO page.

    What it does.....

    If they don't opt-in.

They're added into a "custom audience" in my Facebook advertising account of people who visited the squeeze page from a solo ad but DID NOT OPT IN.

We can then push specific ads at them UNTIL THEY OPTIN.

If they then optin..... just like with the solo ad. They see the OTO. If they buy, cool. We just got a lead and sale from someone who would have been long gone..... had it not been for retargeting

If they optin but DONT BUY... (either from the solo itself OR the retargeting campaign above).....

The OTO sales page has "regathering code" in it, too. Anyone who visits the OTO page but doesn't buy, gets added to a custom audience for that.

We can then push different ads and offers at them until they buy.

    The Bottom Line?

If you're not using retargeting with your solo traffic, now is the time to start.

You can essentially "follow them around" with your offers until they optin, buy..... or both
