Need help with Clickbank

Hi,
I recently heard about clickbank and decided to give it a shot. After watching videos and doing research about promoting etc I decided to choose the category ''fat loss'' and found one which I was interested in promoting. I found a place to advertise which is getting an average of 2000+ views a day and bought a 1 month subscription to it. I am only allowed to advertise a 125x125 banner on the site. I found a banner, and linked it to my clickbank. After two days the site has gotten 4000 views but when I go to my clickbank it has only 15 hops.
The product I am promoting is Xtreme Fat Loss 2014 which has decent commission and not to much competition.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you, appreciate your help.

trial and error is the best way to learn. Keep at it. I am learning too, so I am not an expert or the most efficient but I will tell you what I am trying / doing.

I am doing things the hard way, manually sending links to targeted areas like forums, viral articles in relevant category, and even emailing people on craiglist that I think might want my product (people who are looking for a date may need to lose weight).I have thought of using a coupon or some other offer and creating an ad on Craigslist that if they will email me I will give to them, building a list of targeted traffic. I have learned it is not how many clicks you get, but how many sales. Clicks mean nothing if they don't buy, and they won't buy if you aren't selective about prepping the sale and who you target.

I have seen tips for contacting Youtube viral video owners and working a deal with them to post your link on their video. I have heard of people using snippets of review videos and posting them together to side step copyright violation and then using that video with your link.

As for affiliates, clickbank did not work for me. I did not make any money until I started with ebay.

Firstly your niche is really competitive market to be in if it's your first crack at this. What type of research did you do into this? How are you promoting this? How are you different to your competition?

A lot of new people make this mistake... They feel it's easy as selecting a product and you place on a website and it will sell. Well that not how it works....

Here a very quick step by step checklist

Research the market you want to explore. You google keyword tool to help.

Build a website. Wordpress websites are quick and easy for this.

      Create original content.

Find quality products to promote. Do your homework.

It's all about branding yourself in the right way. Reputation is everything.

      Good luck

i don't think you are doing something wrong since you only placed your 125x125 banner in there. You are just waiting for clicks, not much to do. The only thing that i can imagine is that the banner is not that attractive or you are not using some fancy words to make people want to click on it ...

just make sure that your advertise banner has linked to your clickbank affiliate site. to do that...just click your banner ads, then..you must try to click "BUY" at your affiliate site.
in order form you look at the bottom line clickbank order form ...that's [affiliate=YOURCBID].
    hope this can help.
my experience about clickbank aff is ...just create a landing page/squeeze page then advice your visitor to enter his/her name and email address..it's better way to make list and instant cash too :-)
i use this way to get earn from cb affiliate, let's look very simple site i've :

Banner advertising isn't that effective if the banner doesn't pop out to the website visitors. Make sure the banner ads will entice the viewer to find out more about the product.

i would create a sqeeuze\landing page and send traffic to it, ofcourse the niche is very competitive, maybe its better to find a mini niche in the Fat Loss niche.

You haven't started off with a clear understanding of "what makes people buy ClickBank products" (i.e., from the affiliate perspective, "where the money comes from"). That's not a criticism, of course: nobody was born knowing how to do this stuff!

The reality is that doing what you're doing now, you could have thousands of hops and still never make a sale at all. The last person with whom I had a serious conversation about it, who was doing what you're doing, eventually had over 2,000 hops producing 1 sale (which was refunded). Stop spending money on what you're doing now: it isn't going to work for you, and there are reasons for that.

This post from nearly two years ago will help you (especially if you read it, slowly, carefully and often enough, and follow its two links and do the same with each of those posts, because then you'll understand "where the money really comes from"): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

    Good luck!

If I were you I would direct that traffic to a squeeze page... capture the email address... and then promote your affiliate offer via email. Banners suck really. Building a list is where it's at. Your list is your asset. Treat it right and it will ALWAYS put money in your pocket. Banners are a one-time shot. You either get the sale there and then... or you lose money. But with email, you can put that person on an autoresponder series and hit them up dozens of times for various different offers. It's far more profitable and professional. Build a list with banner traffic. Don't try sell right off the bat.

As other members have said, the weight loss and burn fat niche is extremely competitive, especially with clickbank products. This doesn't mean that you can make awesome money in these niches, you for sure can, it will just take more optimizing and different techniques than just direct media buys.

Other niches that are evergreen but not as competitive that you might have some luck with are: parenting, gardening, finance (binary options, forex, payday loans), although finance can be quite competitve too. Gaming is a pretty profitable niche too!

    Good luck!

You can make your banner more attention grabbing. If it isnt grabbing the audiences attention, then nobody is going to look at it and buy it. I also think that banner advertising is beginning to be pretty outdated. The best thing that you may need to do is create your own squeeze page/opt in page. This way, you will be able to control your own traffic. You also wont have to worry about paying for traffic and getting played out of your money. Well, that really depends on how you will get your traffic to your squeeze page/opt in page. I think that you should just keep trying and dont give up. Pretty soon, you'll be on the right track with a little bit of trial and error

Don't send your visitors straight to Clickbank. Send them to your own website where you get their email address in exchange for a bit of quality information, like a report or ebook RELATED to the clickbank product you are promoting. Build up a relationship using an autoresponder series of email messages. Now you have a potential customer that you can recommend a number or related products ,for which you can get affiliate commission on. Best of luck with your endeavours.

Are you direct linking to your affiliate offer? Direct linking is not very effective with clickbank products. You might want to send the visitors to a squeeze page first. Get their email id, so you can repeatedly promote to them.

Statistics say that people need to hear about the product at least 3 times before they decide to buy it.

Also, make sure your banner looks good. If your click through rate is not high, it might be because of the message your banner sends to the viewers. It should incite a sense of urgency in the people who visit the site.

Direct linking with a banner to a Clickbank offer?

      Yikes...

As others have rightly pointed out, you are very unlikely to make any money doing that.

      This isn't 1999.

      Think about this:

What would be the absolute easiest way you could possibly make money online (if it actually worked) and compare that to what you are trying to do...

What is the barrier to entry on your method?

Methods with tiny barriers to entry are likely to fail.

Even if direct linking with banners and affiliate links did work, you are using the wrong kind of banner.

You want ONLY above the fold and ONLY 250x250 or bigger. 125x125 is too small.

the banner needs a better call to action people wont click and you will in turn have no hops if you dont have a solid call to action.
