Cold Call Conversion Rate

Hey Folks,
I know everyone is going to have a different answer for this but I'm trying to get a good idea of the ROI I will get from a cold calling campaign. I know it also depends on my list but I feel pretty happy about the list and my script for that matter (watch I will just shoot myself in the foot on this one). Should I be expecting a 2% return or a .5% return? I just don't know, and the research I've gone through suggests numbers that are all over the place.

Also does anyone know of a good telemarketer that is reputable? Just trying to put some feelers out there while I research this and push forward for my next campaign.

How long is a piece of string?

Honestly, no one can answer this for you.

You'll need to test and find out for yourself.

I've done several outbound campaigns and the reality is that there is no benchmark conversion rate to shoot for. You need to first get an understanding of what your contact rate is - i.e., how many people you call versus how many actually answer the phone. This is KEY and an important metric to improve over time. Next, you need to know what your close rate is - i.e., how many people answer the phone versus how many purchase. This, again, is a critical metric to improve over time. There are several more metrics to measure also. But these are the two main ones. Please also note that there are MANY new laws out there now about who you can contact... when you can contact them... and how much time you have to contact them. It would be wise of you to get an understanding of these laws because it's easy to break these laws and get into a LOT of trouble. Hope this helps.
