Free Ways To Promote Your Blog Posts Other Than Social Media

Hey Warriors,

Most people post their content to social media sites like facebook, twitter, google plus and linkedin. I know there are lots of other great ways to promote your content for free such as converting your blog posts to pdf's and sharing them on document sharing sites like scribd, docstoc and sideshare.

But isn't converting blog posts to pdf's and sharing them on these sites, seen as duplicate content? Because it already exists on your site, especially if it appears twice in the search engines from your blog and document sharing sites.

Also if you can think of other ways of promoting your blog post other than social media sites and document sharing, please share them with us here.

Thanks

No. It isn't "seen as duplicate content" because it isn't duplicate content.

You're confusing "duplicate content" with "syndicated content". The difference between the two is explained in this post: Article Marketers - Lay the Duplicate Content Myth To Rest Once and For All - Internet Marketing and Publishing Blog

    Hi Justin,

I like blog commenting, tribes, and forums are other free traffic methods.

Any channel through which you can meet authority bloggers, or famous bloggers, and become their friends, work quite nicely.

Promoting the living stuffing out of pros from your niche is an easy way to get on their radar, as is leaving REALLY in depth comments on top shelf blogs.

I was just asked to do an interview a few hours ago. This will be the 26th top flight, authority blog I'll be featured on in 9 weeks. Now, my blog is really neat, because I'm Blogging from Paradise, but commenting and promoting folks on social is a fool proof way to generate serious pop, pronto, and it's free.

The comments need to be in depth, but if you have no issues sharing your thoughts for 5 or 10 minutes, and wouldn't mind a NY Times Best Selling Author promoting you, why not go for it? Worked fine for me.

All the best Justin. Let us know how your free marketing campaign is going....I believe it'll rock.

    Listen to Ryan...

I've followed his blog for over a year now and he's an absolute monstrosity!

Another tip I would ad is to focus on email marketing.

Make sure to pimp your subscriber list on your blog...

And every time you post something awesome? Be sure to plug it. Everywhere.

    :]

    Hey Justin.

Totally agree with Ryan. To add to his suggestions try networking in social media groups and communities. Mainly Facebook groups, Google+ Communities and LinkedIn.

Social media marketing is SO much more than just sharing your content. You have to immerse yourself into the communities and be as helpful as you possibly can!

Since I started networking aggressively (including blog commenting), I've seen an increase in traffic, subscribers and sales. The relationships you build are like gold.

    Hey Justin,

There are surely other ways to promote your blog like making a Wordpress theme and let others download for free .If anyone downloaded you theme a you gain a backlink to your own blog.

    Darn it Ryan!

Every time you post something, I can't help but to start daydreaming what it would be like to sell the house, throw the family on a plane and find some tropical beach to work from. I can't do that because of my parents but man...it sure is nice to think about. So please drink something alcoholic out of a coconut for me; that would make me feel a little better as I watch it rain in South Carolina this weekend.

By the way everyone, he is dead-on accurate as usual. The key is not only writing great content but actively networking and making new connections. You never know who's going to catch your blog and reach out...but that only happens if you're giving yourself the opportunities in the first place.

Triberr is a hidden goldmine for you to promote your newest article on and get a ton of social shares from it. It allows your whole group to easily share your article from your blog. Other One of the best promotion methods you can do is to guest post. Write your best article and contribute to a targeted blog that is within your category.
