well, i didn't want to put it here because i didn't want to be bashed by others...it's happened before. I don't like arguing.

But, I have a campaign going for my 6yr old son. He wants to give back to those who are in need. He created a video. I don't have the funds to help him so I used crowdfunding as a source. I was hoping maybe we can get some help from a few members here.

We've raised about $200, but we don't wanna stop there. We want to continue to help. I've taken the first $200 and immediately bought groceries for a family of 3.

I thought maybe it would be easier to do if I could create a WSO.

Bill, you have a very noble idea, its great to see people "paying it forward" so here's a few ideas for you...

Make a video and challenge three friends to "pay it forward" and then take a pie in the face (or something similar) - the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has raised hundreds of millions of dollars and is the most viral marketing since Got Milk? Send the link to your local news station too.

Call your local walmart (talk to the store manager) and see if they are donating their damaged food anywhere, most walmarts do, but it entirely possible that they would donate to your cause as well. Be prepared, have a big truck ready, walmart generally donates pallets of food. If they aren't interested in that, ask if you can stand outside on a saturday and ask people to donate their pocket change - every penny adds up.

Have a FREE car wash. I know that FREE doesn't sound like it would make money, but we raised $1200 in donations when people found out the car wash was to send kids to church leadership camp. People are more likely to stop for a free car wash and then donate, then pay $5 to have their car washed. Most fast food restaurants and autoparts stores are happy to donate their water and space to help out.

Those are really great ideas. I'm gonna keep on pushing. I'm not gonna give up. Today wasn't so good. We didn't get any donations. That's the first time this has happened. It bothered me a bit..lol

What works for things like this is showing the delighted recipients on video.

With $200+ worth of grocery handouts thus far, you've missed out on a huge opportunity which would have snowballed your donations.

          Good luck.

I think I've explained my point thoroughly. My angle is to teach my son to help others. Others helping fund this campaign shows him that others are willing to help and yes in turn he will take the donated money to help who he wants.

You've explained what you want to teach your son just fine. You haven't explained what you want to do for a WSO. What are you going to offer as your WSO?

I'm sorry if I did not explain things properly. I thought I said my purpose of the WSO was for the members here to help. Help could come in the form of donating as little as $5 or as much as you'd like, sharing this on facebook, tweeting about it and posting to instagram.

          I apologize.

One good method is to get other Warriors on board kind of like was done here:

            http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ing-tools.html

Here is one that was done to donate to the Philippines for the recent typhoon Yolanda.

            http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ilippines.html

Set up a package deal with other Warriors. This will test your marketing abilities, but often if you have a good cause behind you than you can get others on board.

I think what you are your son are doing is pretty cool. It's not really worthy of a WSO though. I don't mean your cause is not worthy, it just doesn't fit the requirements to be listed in the WSO forum.

Having said that, several similar causes have been run through the WSO forum over the years but this is how to do it. Go around and contact some well-known marketers who have some good quality products to offer. Tell them about your cause and what you are your son are trying to do. You then ask the marketer to donate a product to the cause. You can then create a WSO package where people get access to x number of products in return for donating a certain amount of money.

            1. The buyers win because they are getting access to some high quality products for cheaper than normal... and helping a good cause in the process.

            2. The marketers win because their products and brand are being put infront of a whole new audience of people.

            3. You are your son win because you can go out and help more people.

Not true at all. Plenty of WSO products are softwares, plugins, graphics, etc. You don't need to be a successful marketer to create products like that. Besides, there is only one way to become a successful marketer... and that is to start marketing. So getting your first WSO up is a step in the right direction. The worst that can happen is you lose $20.

I found that to be weird, because organziations that help people often take donations from people just like me and you everyday....

Just look at your local Church...they can't do what they do without tithes and offerings. The salvation army, how do they help others?

          Bill -

You aren't a registered charity - that means what you raise in funds is taxable income.

I admire your goal of teaching your son to give but in this plan what he's doing is fund raising. I'd be surprised if people are willing to make continued donations to you so you can hand out money. Maybe that's how it's done now - don't know.

I'm only suggesting you rethink where you are going with this. It's a great one-off effort though I think you missed a step when your son wasn't with you to choose a recipient or see the money given away.

On the Random Acts of Kindness website there are so many great ideas for small kindnesses - and many of them are things aimed at children. It doesn't require a lot of money and these small act of kindness are great character builders for kids.

I agree with the idea of father-son participation in sponsored walks or other charity events.

Bill, I think what you're doing with your son is AWESOME!!! Major Daddy points!

I'm pretty sure there's an audience of people who would want to help a 6 year old help others. Every member of my family, for example...

I think I see where you're headed - a WSO where the proceeds go to your son's fund to help others, right?

If so, your best bet is to pull together information that appeals to the audience of that section of the forum and whether or not you include that the funds are going to help a good cause is up to you. I don't recall if the WSO rules say anything about whether you can say that or not but you don't have to mention it at all in the thread. The point is to pull together something of value and list it.

If you have specific questions about the "how" that you don't want to ask in public I'm open to answering what questions I can.

I think you'd mentioned that you'd done a video for your project and I think YouTube and other social sites are a great way for you to gain traction. A YouTube channel where your son reports on his efforts - with a common theme and branding where it's like a series of short shows - could gain a following.

Your son's school probably has a newsletter and website where they might include a story on your son's efforts and you might be able to use that to generate local interest. My son's school has a short morning TV show where the kids do the updates and the kids are able to come up with the items they want to cover. See if your school has something similar.

      Not necessarily.

If someone is a programmer, or a writer, etc - they may have something to offer as a WSO. WSO is just a place to market what you want to sell. Not always a "way to make money" ebook or program.

    • Yeah Bill, you're totally right bro. The truth is the only way that marketers get paid in the first place is by exchanging something of equal or greater value than a persons money in the first place. I can definitely help you out in your product creation process man. Its much easier than you think.
      1. You start off with a subject you have a lot of knowledge in.
      2. Write a couple of headlines and key points to talk about surrounding that point, begin talking into a microphone, your cell phone, or computer and record your voice talking about those points.
      3. Take those recorded audios - get them transcribed on fiverr.com for like $20 - $50.
      4. Then once they are transcribed get them edited by a professional editor from Fiverr for maybe another $30 - $50 bucks.
      5. And without doing all the heavy duty writing yourself - you'll have written a book!

It will be professional quality - using your own words. It doesn't get any easier than that.

Let me know if you need some more help bro - happy to step in and be of service to another person looking to make it happen.

      Great job Bill.

If you don't mind, I would like to recommend not using all the money you receive via donations or whatnot.

Instead, if I was interested in making this a long term - help as many families sort of thing, I would be reinvesting some of that money to bring in even more money.

Sell stuff that helps people just like the rest of us. Only your profits will go to families.

In the next 5 years I want to do this very same thing for animal rescue. I don't want to rely on donations but make this as self sufficient as possible and even continue on when I pass on.

That's a great idea. I'm going to help as many families as possible but I'm also gonna build for longevity. I just need to formulate a plan now. I don't know maybe I'll attend some auctions, garage sales etc., create an ebay account and sell those items there...whatever I make, I will help others with.

I just need to find a way to get started...so I've tried to start by crowdfunding. We need some sort of contribution.

My Son won't be visible in all of my videos. That doesn't mean I can't show him what his Dad is doing. There's reasons he won't be there that I'd like to keep personal and private. He will be there the majority of the time. I recorded that as soon as the goal of $200 was met because the guy who donated wanted to see the video and I did not want to make anyone wait on a video.

I know there's other things I can do and teach my son that doesn't involve money. I believe that I am teaching him most of those things.

The food and other random acts is something he wants to see and do...and those acts cost money, I'm not wealthy/rich so I've asked for help.

      Hi,

      1. Even if you aren't an expert, you can write and sell PLR

Tiffany Dow has an ebook on how to do that. PLR almost always sells if it's halfway decently constructed and has a decent pitch.

      2. Sean Mize has an inexpensive but VERY good report/wso on doing wso's.

      3. Selling SERVICES in warriors for hire is a very good idea. And there are wso's on how to do THAT also.

      4. Selling services on Fiverr has been very good for some warriors and there are wso's on THAT. They even show you inexpensive software you can use to perform services.

      Best wishes,

      Marlon

Selling services on Fiverr and warriors for hire section as someone already mentioned is always a good idea.. you can also do that on odesk . com and freelancer . com

PLR products is not a good idea as a WSO though as it has to be something you created by yourself. But they can be sold on the warrior forum classified ads instead.

I've done some research on gofundme and they say once you reach around $1500 you will start to get more donations from anonymous people. I would just say to keep up the good work and keep posting videos every couple days so people can see what they are getting from making them. Peace.

Charities are rife with pictures of their causes and the results of their efforts which encourage people to donate.

Who else did you donate to? Isn't there at least a story behind them that you can post up on your site? Where did you find those familes? Why did you select them?

I have a Fiverr seller who posts paragraphs of text, pics and sometimes videos for a very small donation. I appreciate you might be busy, but this is what you need to consider if you want to move forwards.
