Dumb Question about WarriorPlus

This is a stupid question, and there probably isn't a very good answer to it, but I'll ask anyway. I love shoving my foot in my mouth!

I signed up and found some amazing products that I'd like to promote. I mean there are some really, no exaggeration, good products and plugins on there. I'd love to share them. So, I made a request. This was almost a week ago and it's still pending.

Is this normal? Did I do something wrong? Also, if I get declined, is it considered rude if I request again and explain better why I'd be a good affiliate?

I wouldn't say it's uncommon to not hear back on an affiliate request. Make sure that you followed the procedure that the vendor outlined for becoming an affiliate.

In the U.S. we're in the middle of the Labor Day weekend and a lot of folks are out of town or otherwise away from their computer and business.

No, you probably haven't done anything wrong.

Having said that, it's not a good sign that the vendor hasn't answered back in a week. It makes you wonder if he keeps his customers and affiliates waiting too. Customer service is a very important part of every business. Are you going to have to wait unduly long for your affiliate checks as well?

I don't really know what to advise at this point except to say the vendor is not acting like he cares much about his affiliates.

Sure - go ahead and contact him again.

All excellent advice from Steve; the above portion just stands out - to me at least - as being critical. This is one of the reasons why, when I promote something, I buy it and use it first. The last thing I want is to disenchant my audience by giving poor advice. Better to sell to someone a thousand times than just once.

Probably over half the people that apply to promote my products don't follow the (very basic) instruction I give of letting me know how they intend to promote or they say something vague like "video marketing".

I'm then left with the sales and refund stats provided by Warrior Plus - it's kind of chicken and egg when you're starting out as you won't have many sales.

Reach out to the vendor via private message on here - not all will reply as the message box fills up fast - or track them down on Facebook or through a friend of a friend.

And if you actually bought the product, say so in the message and try replying to the email you almost certainly got signed up for.

    Not everyone monitors everything.

Once you start showing up anywhere on the leaderboards things will change. Until then, keep at it.

This is the very reason I end up not approving or denying some requests. I hate the deny button - it seems so mean. Yet, if I don't receive the information requested I can't justify the approval if the stats on WP don't paint a good picture (or no picture at all).

Sometimes I've denied someone and then found that not only are they a customer but they're someone I've communicated with by email for an extended period of time but I had no way of knowing based on the lack of connection between WP user name and their real name or email address.

I wish there was a button for neither denying or approving but kicking it back to the affiliate with a request for information.

If you are new and don't have any records yet. I suggest you follow the instruction laid out, you can also directly contact the seller.

A lot of sellers don't approve this if they see new accounts and zero sales because there are a lot of scam out there where people sign up to be an affiliate buy some products then issue a refund using chargeback ing Paypal.

Paypal will always favor the chargeback that's why most product owners are picky in approving their affiliates.

Just contact them and let them know you are a serious affiliate.

I can only talk from a vendors point of view. I have many products listed on Warrior Plus and other platforms and I deny 99% of all affiliate requests I get. It's in my best interest to do so. The reality is that 99% of affiliates are time-wasters who will make you zero sales. It's only a very small percentage who will actually make you any worthwhile sales and more often than not, they are going to be marketers you have heard of. By approving random affiliates I do not know I open myself up to potential fraud and issues with Paypal -- something that has happened to many vendors in the past.

So yes, you will struggle to get many affiliates to approve you if they do not know who you are and/or you have no track record of sales for them to look at. It's just the nature of the business. Most of these platforms actually warn vendors not to approve any affiliates we do not already know because of the potential problems that can create.

My best advice to you is to request and if denied, contact the vendor again and give them a good explanation of why they should approve you. This should include proof of previous successful promotions you have done for other marketers. You need to show the vendor you are a serious affiliate.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I've already bought the products and thought they were great, which is why I wanted to recommend them (I only promote what I've used and know works). I'll try contacting him again. If I was denied that would be one thing, but I don't like sitting in the "pending" zone forever.

One thing you don't mention is how long ago the product originally launched.

If it is an older product, the seller may not be paying much attention at the moment. Try contacting them directly. It is not uncommon to find out they are promoting the product through a second location, like Clickbank, were they keep their primary focus and they only used Warrior Plus to launch their product on the Warrior Forum.
