Is this a good strategy for Affiliate Marketing?

Hey,

I dabbled a bit with affiliate marketing recently to try and make my first sale and did so in three days, unfortunately I was selling a product in a niche area I didn't have any experience in so my content wasn't great.

I'm actually selling a product in the same niche but I've outsourced the content this time and so someone has written it all for me.

I can also make whiteboard animation videos so I am going to convert a lot of the articles in to videos to make them more interesting.

Here is my strategy in a nutshell:

Website

1.I've created a squeeze page which has a whiteboard animation intro video explaining what I provide (Free content, videos) and also to enter your E-mail address below.
2.Website obviously has an opt-in.

Aweber + Vimeo

1.I have subscribed to Aweber to send my E-mails to people who opt-in. I have bought Vimeo Pro to upload my whiteboard animation videos and also to keep my videos private only to people who opt-in.

Content

1.I have made a Free E-book and dating video for people who opt-in using the content I bought.
2..My idea is to do this:
  • Create 5 free E-mails after the free giveaway using articles and whiteboard videos...
  • After the 5 E-mails do my first product launch of the affiliate product I'm selling
  • E-mail after send them a testimonial of the product
  • Send about another 8 free E-mails in the same format (article + video)
  • Second product launch of product + testimonial
  • Same again with another 11 free E-mails in same format.
  • Last product launch + testimonial.

Not really sure what to do after my third product launch?

Traffic
  • 1.Subscribed to Pingler and ping new content everyday.
  • 2.Post new content on Reddit and Delicious everyday.
  • 3.Post 2 answers on Yahoo Answers with a link to my squeeze page everyday
  • 4.Write 5 forum posts a day on 5 different Dating forums. Wait around 40-50 posts mark and then link my squeeze page in my signature.
  • 5.Guest post on Dating blogs/sites 1/2 times a week.

I'm aware of Solo ads because I have done them before. I have never tried Ad buys.

To be honest, I can't afford to use these methods all the time due to cost.

If you could be honest with my plan and offer constructive criticism I would really appreciate it!

Thanks Joe

Well, can't blame you for being ambitious. I mean your plan is sound, and i'm sure you'll make money with it. Don't give up. If it works for you, keep doing it - even if there's a better way. Sometimes you just have to go with what works for you, and stack that paper so that you can have a great life for yourself and your family.

My question is.... how many hours per day do you plan to put aside to implement these traffic strategies above? Lol, they take alot of time to do. I short cut the whole thing and throw some money at it (paid advertising). Give it a shot. Good luck!

That is an ambitious strategy and it will take time and effort. You may not see results right away either, so don't give up. Also be open to trying different things and different ways of marketing.

      Good luck.

If you will do it everyday. Then I am sure you will make money. But surely it will take time. I am using reddit for traffic. Reddit is awesome. Also consider Pinterest and Instagram for traffic. they are great sources.

    Thanks for the replies.

I am still new to Internet Marketing so that plan is just based on my current level of experience, I will try and learn new ways of traffic for sure.

      Hi Joe,

Good to see you sticking with the game.

      Your plan looks sound.

Just remember the MAIN selling point of this entire plan will be the QUALITY of the content.

I don't mean the grammar or of course even if your video is a little amateurish it doesn't matter. The thing that will sell is whether or not people believe you can get them to their intended destination.

So make sure the content gives them something they can use right NOW to get results.

The better the content, the easier it will be to get sales.

      But the plan looks awesome!

      All the best,

      Chris Jones

Haha yeah still following your plan! Thanks again

The content I'm using are PLR articles so it won't be the best because it's not 100% unique right?

Because I'm not an expert on my niche I thought it would be best I outsourced it. I bought about a 1000 off Fiverr.

I don't think I could afford to pay someone 10$ everytime I needed a unique article because:

1.I will have around 25 articles in my list
2.I will post 1 new article everyday on social media websites
3.I will post articles to Guest Blogging/Article Directories (These I will pay for unique articles)

I'd stepped away from IM for a while to learn some skills (Started learning web design and whiteboard animation videos).

I was doing the whiteboard videos on Fiverr and thought 'Well hang on, I'm not an expert in a niche but I can pay someone for the content and use these videos to promote the content.)

I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not.

But how do other people promote products they have no knowledge or expertise in? A lot must outsource right? And if they are how much are they spending on the content?

        Thanks Joe!

          Hi Joe,

          Good questions.

I can only tell you how I have had success.

My advice to start off with is to NOT outsource and NOT use PLR.

          Not to begin with.

You want to focus on giving really good info which is why it helps to go into a niche that you know something about.

It is not essential and i have gone into niches and made money that i knew not that much about initially.

One was a chicken coop guide.

You need to research - find out the top questions in the niche and answer them.

But yes the research is hard work and it will be made harder if you have no interest in the niche.

Be careful with that one, especially in this kind of niche. It's easy to have your posts flagged by competitors. I think two answers per day with your link is far too many and will quickly get you into trouble. I've had some very good leads and customers from Yahoo Answers over the years, but I'm extremely careful how I do it, and put a link to my site in no more than 15% of the answers I offer (which are always long, carefully worded and designed to add value). Contrary to what many people say, it's potentially a good source of well targeted and responsive traffic, but many people have "blown" it - sometimes repeatedly - and like to tell others that it "doesn't work". They're wrong.

What types of research were you doing?

You said you were finding out the top questions in the niche. Was this by visiting forums and making notes on the most popular threads? Which other ways.

How did you get an understanding of the content so you could produce high quantity and high quality articles?

            Cheers Joe

There are lot of different ways in affiliate marketing.

Your plan looks good, go a head with it.

but remember, its all about quality game, make sure the content is not copied and it is unique. If it is unique then your half work is done. Then start your game....You will see results, no worries your game plan is quite good to start

Focus on your strategy and go for it.
Stick to it until you see results.

Results won't come flooding in at first, but will slowly increase.
    Its a great plan.

Your plan looks good to me...I like very much your strategy to give a lot of value before asking for money. But I think that it is very important in your future emails not to overdo this free value giving, because your subscribers may used to link your name with free things and don't buy anything from you because of that.
The most important conclusion from this thread is that you should test your plan and be persistent, the success doesn't come overnight when you start, but it will come if you never quit, because I'm sure that you know that the 100% sure way not to succeed is to quit.
    Wish you persistence and wisdom
