This is how I persuade you to buy my stuff ...

I've been following some product launches lately and I notice
a common trend. It's not the first time I've seen this strategy
but it seems to be coming more common.

The product owner would invite the prospect to study the
marketing strategy and sales letter used to persuade the
prospect to buy!

The first marketer I saw do this was Dan Kennedy. It seems
that the other marketers also come from his camp.
I mean can you get any more honest than this: "Here is
how I'm going to pull you in to buying my stuff." "Now buy!"

Is this honest marketing at its core OR a genius underhanded strategy?

It's an honest strategy for sure.

Ask any ad copywriter, and he'll say the best thing you can do to make a person want to buy what you're selling is to lead them to buying. Don't just convince them. Tell them to take action

Dan was selling a course on selling. So it's pretty logical for him to dissect the sales message and techniques he is using himself.

Yeah, It makes sense. He is showing you EXACTLY the kind of stuff you can expect to get within the content of his product.

And I am sure from his presentation of dissecting the actual Sales letter itself , the Conversion rates were pretty damn through the roof with that Sales Letter !

In a sense he is given you a Sample test....... kind of like they do at Sams when they have those people giving parcels of food for you to eat and try out and then hopefully by the whole Product..

Honest strategy = gain readers trust.
With trust you can do a lot of things.
e.g. offer products to them, get them to like a page, follow you and become a fan.

But the down side is, if not done correctly, no one will trust you.

It was quite refreshing as well, often you see these launches and sales blurbs about how they made 1000000 in 10 minutes using this secret ninja method but dont actually use that method to generate their own sales.

Its kinda my first rule with any sales material 'watch what they do not what they say they do'.

      Yes, it is.

Analyzing the sales pitch for a how to sell course will lead to a bunch of "how'd he do that" questions, leading to the source for the answers -- the buy button.

I think this is honest marketing at it's best. You shouldn't have to persuade people that what you have is worth buying anyway. If you have a quality product that people can reap the benefits of having it should be able to sell itself. I would love to get a review of my site as well just to see what people think of it. For now I'm doing my best just to comment on other posts & see what works.

This seems pretty ingenious if you ask me! And honesty at its finest!

If it's the link in your sig, good luck to you. You'll need it.

All I saw was an opt-in form offering a free membership followed by a wall of bullets, which I didn't bother reading more than a few. The bullets were all features, not benefits.

Asking people to wade through a dense wall of bullets, and then figure out how they can benefit from your free membership, is asking people to do a lot of work the first time they land on your page. Especially since they have no clue who you are or whether they can trust you.

his is a good strategy and it work from my point of view. Everyone loves an honest person, so if from the sales copy, it seems that the person selling the product is so true that he himself tells that he is selling something, then it is well thought that the person will be honest type.
