Has Anyone Paid A License Fee To Use Someone Elses Brand?

Hi

Obviously all those New York Yankee hats you see or other sports team merchandise were not made by that sports company, but instead a hat company (for example) splits their revenue with that brand to make a product with their logo on.

Does anyone know how to go about doing this? Are there online brokers etc doing this all the time, or is more a case of calling up some huge brand and hoping they even bother picking up the phone to you then negotiating licensing agreements (not a viable option).

Thanks

We market two products that are licensed through a major university
athletic department and that's exacftly what we did... picked up the phone
and called their marketing department. Try it. I think you're going to find
there isn't much negotiating to be done so the viability factor is high... lol

Don't be intimidated. It's not the New York Yankees on the other end. It's just
a schlub who goes to work there every day and is looking for people to license
the trademark so they can earn more money.
