Advice on getting professional photos done

I am hiring a professional photographer to do some pictures of me. All I have are very standard shots below. Any suggestions for locations/poses whatever?

Megan my assistant shot these in the studio.

depend what you want to convey .....

I would use someone with corporate portrait experience and tell him/her exactly what the pictures will be for. You want the picture to go with the message not contradict it.

    Hey Brad,

Charles E. White is the 'glamour shot' guru around here. Maybe you could PM him and get some advice.

Only this...If you're gonna use a limo shot...wear some panties.

Brad, As mentioned above ... a good professional photographer should be able to hook you up once you tell him/her the purpose of the photos.

Well focus on who you want to 'be' in front of each particular audience. You want to be kewl web guy or button down web pro? Make a different set depending on what your target market(s) will respond to best.

I think anything too staged doesn't work unless it's something obviously staged to be a little outrageous. And anything shot in the photographer's studio would be kiss of death IMO - get out into better environment to match the shot.

    Brad,

I owned a studio for 38 years. The old site is still hosted.

    It is here http://www.cincinnatisbest.com/oldindex.html

Click on the girl's face to quickly get in to the site, look at Seniors (high school seniors) and publicity portraits for some ideas.

Take a look at galleries on photographers' sites.

There's an amazing photographer in Los Angeles who does headshots for a lot of IM people, as well as people in show biz.

Here's a link to her site. You might find ideas about camera angles and poses to suggest to your photographer.
