And what if you're going to buy, but you can't buy right that second? When you come back, you have to sit through it AGAIN. I had exactly this problem just a couple of weeks ago. When I came back to the page and realized I had to listen to the whole spiel AGAIN, I left the page.

I'm still floored as to why someone would want to purchase a course so badly, yet state that he himself did not agree with precisely what the course was teaching. Just seems like a waste of money. But hey - maybe I'm crazy. Either way. Apparently it works. So for us to be badmouthing a tactic that we have not personally split-tested seems a little ridiculous. There are a lot of things in marketing that a lot of us won't agree on. Personally, I hate long, drawn out sales pages. I would much rather just tell someone what they're getting, what I can do for them, then give them a decent price. Heck, I can accomplish that in a paragraph. But that's not what works. Look at any high-converting sales page. That sort of tactic isn't what moves the most product. So why fight it? Here's the bottom line. This tactic might not appease to everyone. This tactic might drive some of you up the wall. This tactic might not be something you'd want to force onto your buyers. This tactic might not be something you agree with. But it works. And that's all that really matters. So if you wholeheartedly disagree with it, I have some words of advice: Walk away from it. You don't have to purchase everything that pops into your inbox - especially strategies that you disagree with in the first place. Just move on, continue working on YOUR methodology, and maybe one day you'll discover a tactic that somebody will dislike enough to make a public post on one of the most populated Internet marketing forums...then buy it anyway. All the best, Jesse Kemmerer kemmerer.j@gmail.com |

Andrew Cavanagh earns my vote as the best answer in this thread. If you read Wellman's admission that he "pre-sold" a 30,000 prospect (waiting) list, then gave them two hours with the instant buy now button on the sales page for the "A" crowd then changed it over to the other method for the "B" crowd which yielded greater results then there can only be one conclusion to draw upon here.... The pre-sell content stinks to which, Andrews' comment becomes highly relevant "Split testing is great but keep in mind you could just be testing one poor idea against another poor idea to see which is the least poor LOL." I don't subscribe to other's thoughts in this thread that state it works, just keep your personal opinion out of it.... keep in mind that the audience was warmed to the launch. The true test is to bounce cold prospects (no pre-selling) off both strategies to find the control. I happen to believe that the launch wasn't what Wellman anticipated yet he was able to glean some good news that is worthy of, yet requires further testing in future to replicate the same/similar outcome under different conditions. P.S. Wellman, your grass on your front lawn looks burnt 'round the walk way. Quote:

Hi, I just got two identical spam emails promoting this thing. Here's the interesting part - they were sent to two of my email addresses - one that I have hardly used for anything at all, another which I have only used for one single purpose and the address has never been 'live' on the internet (couldn't have been harvested). I created this email for one purpose and that was to join a well known IM membership. That is the only possible source for the leak of this email to someone who has spammed me. I'm not a member of that membership anymore so to them, it's an ex-customer's email. I shall be contacting them tomorrow. The other email is one I also used for this membership, at a different time - but it has also been used for other things too, whereas the other one hasn't, so I know that the one email has definitely been sold/given to a spammer. The 'from' email address (the 'possible' spammer) appears to lead back to a site of somebody with a name I recognise from previous business. I need to look into that. If anyone else gets spammed about 'easysalesformula.com' I'd be interested in comparing notes about the email address leak. Keith, the email has a link in it, if you're interested in who's link is being used in sending definite spam emails promoting your product. |

Why try to reinvent the wheel? He could have combined the two, video and text. I understand the whole need to push emotional buttons and make more of a connection; but talk about shooting yourself in the foot as most people may watch a video when they come to a salespage or may instinctively start scrolling down the page looking for text and with no order button prominently displayed in various parts of the page. I don't get it. |
