what technology would you use to find below:

where competitor get backlinks / traffic from ?
competitor's marketing strategies?

what is more can we learn from competitor? my competitor is in ecommerce.

    Just look at their site map and see what they are actually doing.

    use your eyes and dissect their website...

    search their keywords using google and see if they are ranking, the pages/posts who are raking are the ones who need to be looked at harder by you (your own eyes again) and see if you can do what they are doing better.

    I don't recommend any more software than Google Chrome (or your browser of choice) and google search to reverse engineer your competitors website.

    For backlinks, you can use majestic or ahrefs or moz. There's a free tool you can use backlinkwatch but it is slow and only returns partial results.
