Some hosting companies will do it for you, free, within reason, for the sake of getting you as a customer.

Don't let that be a reason for using a bad hosting company, though. I strongly suggest that you stay away from GoDaddy, 1and1, and any companies owned by Endurance International Group. Otherwise you might just end up looking for another new host.

      Correct, just choose good one.

      For example, HostGator.

Some hosting companies will help you migrating your website but usually took few hours to respond and do the migration. Contact your new provider if they can help you otherwise if you are in a hurry you'll have to hire someone to do it for you. Migrating smoothly is not that hard as I migrated hundreds of websites already.

It is easy to migrate your website, there are many tutorials online which you can use before attempting to migrate, or you can hire someone to do it for you.

Also, most hosting companies offer free migration.

I used fantasktic. They charge $99 and they did it it quickly and did a great job. I switched to hosting that doesn't migrate sites.

A few things which you need to keep in mind when you move -
    1) Download a Home directory backup from your host
    2) Download a full Database backup from your host
    3) Make a note of all your domains, subdomains and add-on domains which are hosted on that site.
    4) If you have emails set up for those domains, back them up.

For most cases (that is, unless you haven't activated any additional services through cPanel), the above should cover it for you. Once you set up everything on a new host and point your domains correctly to the new host, then you should be able to safely cut off from your old host.
