Help! Fiverr Really Messed Me up

Hopefully someone here can suggest what I should do. I purchased 1 couple of orders with Fiverr. To date over the passed 2 years I have done 200 transactions as a buyer but never sold anything there. I am unable to get on to the site. I went through a proxy server and was able to get into my account and all transactions as well as everything else has been wiped out! My computer just bit the dust with all the work from Fiverr on it. I thought I could retrieve it there but everything is gone. My last order I asked for the seller to make changes on a logo and they are big on Fiverr. After a week with no response about fixing the problem I asked them to please respond and then I was banned and lost all the gigs I paid for that I had saved in my account. Can they ban you if you ask a seller to redo something? I tried to contact Fiverr but they won't let me message them either. What do I do? I have lost all work for my website plus did not receive the gigs I paid for. Please help.

Did you receive an email explaining why you were banned?

Have you tried contacting Fiverr directly?

I did not receive an email from them. In fact I keep getting emails from them for new offers for my gig request this week yet have not been able to get on the site for a couple of weeks. I just called Paypal to get my money back from the 2 gigs I paid for which I never recieved through Fiverr and Fiverr just sent me an email about 10 minutes ago saying that I am banned until I resolve this issue with Paypal...but apparently I have been banned for over 2 weeks with no explanation from Fiverr.

Sorry about the issue. I know how frustrating it can be. I believe you're a good business person who's very smart at marketing online. It's time to get your own site and call your own shots. Is there anyway that you could transfer your gigs to your own website? You could redirect your customers there. And traffic is easy by the way.

All the things for my sites were in my Fiverr account. have a website. My computer just fried and I did not have time to save all the 150 Fiverr gigs before they wiped out my account. This seems fraudulent to me. They should at least notify you and let you have access to the gigs you purchased and let you have the orders that you were in the process of having done or return your money before they wipe out your whole account.

I'm pondering two things that are a bit confusing! Why would you need two purchase from 150 gigs? The second question is was the credit card that you were using legit?

I've never seen them ban buyers willie nillie like that.

I have purchased these gigs over the past year. I could access all past gigs in my account. I just had my computer fry and wanted to go back and download all my past gigs but they wiped out all my transactions, emails, accounting etc. and yes my Paypal debit card is good.

I've never heard of them banning a buyer for no reason before, something else is going on. If you open up disputes in Paypal, they will ban you.

I was banned for two weeks or so before I went to Paypal a few hours ago. The only thing I did was asked a seller big Fiverr seller to make a change on the logo they were supposed to design. They never responded back to me. After days of waiting for a response from them I asked them to please respond to my inquiry. The next day I was unable to access the Fiverr site.

Don't know what you mean by your computer fried but have you tried taking out the hard drive and putting it in an external caddy and seeing if you can get anything off it using another computer.

This idea worked for me with my last computer tower. I had a lot of work from the past two years archived on my desktop and a power surge caused the computer to blue screen. The OS was an XP so it was always prone to problems anyway.

I was able to access the content on that drive through a caddy that converts your HD to an external hard drive which you would plug into any other computer via USB.

I got mine from Amazon for about $20.

You just have to be careful when removing your hard drive from your original computer or handling it as static charge on your hands can wipe the drive.

Good advice, I always touch something thats earthed in the house like a tap or sink or water pipe..

Another thing to try is if your computer has an optical drive that it can boot from then try a live run Linux distro and see if you can access the hard drive and just copy stuff to a flash drive.

Linux magazines have live run distros on their cover discs so it might be worth the investment in a magazine or if you have another working computer download and burn an ISO.

You can even get Linux installed on a USB flash drive / memory stick / whatever you call them and boot from that.

going forward isn't it better to charge to a cc ?
that way u can dispute with the cc company.

    * I did not realize that they would ban you if you contact paypal *

ps: the customer service is really nonexistent

I came on the forum to see if it was just me or others that are having a problem.

It appears this has happened to me, although I didn't loose the files. Not sure why I can't access the site. No disputes with Paypal, no problems that I am aware of. I need a project corrected, but unable to access.

Yesterday I got on the site through Google (not today) and was signed in, but could not access anything.

Something is going on - not sure what it is

I was a Seller on there a couple of years ago. Sold source code for a programming platform. They locked down my account AND banned me. I had over $100 in my account and they sat on it for around 90days. Customer Support was zero help.

They claimed I was violating copyright laws by selling source code but I had permission from the platform owner (WHICH they refused to talk to).

I finally got my money and I never looked back.

There's no telling who or why they made the decision towards you. I would say cut your losses and leave em.

You'll get better quality gigs from Warriors in here than there.

In terms of a PayPal dispute. I have heard that is a negative on the company BUT I have nothing to prove that. I know it is negative for me when someone puts one on me BUT that was a long time ago that I got any of those so I cannot speak authoritatively on that matter.

Good Luck. I do hope you can get it resolved.

    Buddy

Did you try contacting Fiverr support?

It could be that their site is having issues.

  • This seams to be the trend of most companies as they start making money they turn into control freaks and start banning for anything they consider "wrong" and that list only grows.

talk about control freaks. this is what happened to me on etsy.com.
on forums related to google adwords ( sellers were talking about it being expensive, etc ) I offered the $100 adword code if anyone was interested ( I did not post any code ).

well guess what ? I get nasty EM from etsy.com saying this is against their TOS.
they banned me fm posting on any forums and abruptly closed my shop.
when I see my cc charges for their listing u better believe I will dispute it.
guess they want their sellers to struggle how to get their shop advertised.

I was feeling down as trying to do something good gets you banned ?
now before I post anything that might be misinterpreted I ask.
thought the control freaks were in corporations. TY for letting me vent

You shouldn't be that dependent on them, you should start your own website, market it through marketplaces but don't be fully dependent on them.

Maybe you did something contravening the terms of agreement. You need to contact customer support and let them explain the situation
