Can broad/whole market authority websites
(e.g. electronics, games, health, fitness, relationships, business, foods etc.)
make money with AdSense?
I mean with all these small categories inside one site
does AdSense still show relevant ads to the content ?
or can a broad/whole market authority website have a high CPC or low CPC ?

one more question I heard that AdSense is no longer rely on keywords to show relevant ads
and now it's all about user browser history is that right ?

I don't see any reason why you will not make money with broad topic website. As long as there is enough traffic you should be fine. However I could not say how much since it really depends on the niche.

Some niche will get you more clicks naturally because there are certain topics that people are looking for more contents. For example Recipes , Done For You where they would like to know how to do it.

Yes you will make money. Some posts or topics will have a higher epc than others but overall you will make money.

Make sure to test media.net as well as they are doing quite well for me.

      Cheers

I think people tend to forget that it's not a website.

    It's a webPAGE.

So on a particular webpage, you're probably highly focused on a particular niche or product, and that would naturally draw the appropriate ads.

There are several challenges with choosing broad market topics for your business.
    1. It's more difficult to attract targeted prospects and customers. The broader the market, the more varied will be the interests and desires of the audience. For a small time marketer like most of us here, that's a disadvantage - to try to focus on the needs and demands of a wide variety of interests.
    2. The competition is more extensive and the players become "bigger." Large companies typically become the 900 lb gorillas in broad markets. They have have resources, staff, and money to do broad market advertising and promotion. This is their space. Small guy marketers have trouble competing in large broad markets.
    3. The time and effort it takes to execute a large market business and website is typically greater than it is for a small narrow niche site. There are more varied interests and demands for attention and content when the audience has lots of various needs and interests. Customer service demands will usually be greater for broad markets.
    4. Creating products and services to meet the demand is usually greater and more difficult for broad topic markets.
    5. Marketing costs and the effort it takes to keep broad market audiences happy seem to be greater than for small niche markets where the audience is homogeneous and passionate about a few common interests.
    6. The level of knowledge and expertise of the content providers is usually greater for broad market topics which translates into more help needed for the owner.
I'm sure there are other points that could be made.

Steve, This is absolutely right when you are doing affiliate promotion/specific product because I understand that the more targeted your leads the higher your conversion to the product you are offering however if you are simply doing adsense and not promoting any product I think it will work just fine.

yes that's exactly what I mean I know that for affiliate promotion/specific products you need a super targeted traffic to make conversions
but I'm just asking about adsense and PPC

Yes it will work but not as much as selling affiliate products and own product. Would you mind sharing your niche and let us assess if it is expected to get clicks from adsense?
(just the broad niche will be fine)
