Help me to monetize my site

I got a domain with more than 200k unique visitors per month. People visit the site to download smileys. Does someone with more experience have an idea how I could monetize this? There's obviously Adwords but I'm trying to think something more profitable. Thanks guys.

    Hi,

    1. Get them onto a list.

    2. Then ask them to complete a survey.

    3. Ask them what their interests are.

    4. Gather that information up.

    5. Give them what they want.

    6. Can you make money from the information they have given to
    you?

    7. If so you can offer them what they said they were interested in
    and in return you paid for doing so.

    This may take some time as they are only downloading smileys so
    it is hard to narrow down what they truly want.

    But at least if you get them onto a list you can then take things from
    there.

      Thanks Gavin! Yep the problem is to know what they want. Maybe I could offer a special smiley package in return for the completed survey? I'm just thinking that it might be hard to get them to fill it.

    Hmmm... I think I would try and use Facebook games and iPhone apps. Thinking you can make good money with them & might appeal to that crowd. Always amazon 2 but would prob go towards the game section.

    What about affiliate (CPA) offers such as downloads, etc..
    Do you know your demographics?

    You can possibly create a premium smiley pack or something to sell?
    If people are interested in smileys, you can also create an email list by offering a free smiley pack

    Here's my 2 cents . . .

    1st cent . . . Long-term, you need to become intimately familiar with your traffic demographics. Easy (free) trick: funnel it to your Facebook page and use Insights. Won't be perfect; but probably quite accurate. You need to learn more about the visitors before you can nail down what offers might appeal. That's long-term.

    2nd cent . . . Short-term, throw up some zip / email submits for web-related products. Chances are your visitors are predominantly female, teens to mid-20s. Throw up some offers to this demographic and supplement with general-demographic offers (iphone, ipad, etc, etc). You'll get earning pretty much right away. Then, long-term, you can nail down the best way to maximize the earning potential of each visitor.
