Lots of keyword content (like 2,500 words or more) on your landing page, get backlinks to your landing page. That is the most long term free way to get Google traffic.

If you are a "newbie" I have to ask a couple of questions:

Do you have more time than money or more money than time?

Are you at all familiar with internet marketing?

This is important to determine as you will go in one direction or another depending on your answer to the questions.

The easiest method to get traffic is by writing informative articles and submitting them to article directories (Ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, associatedcontents.com)

This is the basic and still the best method..

If you want artificial methods (getting thousands of hits)

try these as well:

1. Subcribe to safelist (activesafelist.com, etc.)
2. Manual Traffic exhange (trafficsplash.com, etc.)
3. Social Networks (twitter.com, etc.)
4. Post free classified ads.. (usfreeads.com, etc)

In the above sites, you will get from 25 to 50 hits a day if you do them regularly but it doesn't convert.

The above sites are nice for building your list and most of the people there responds better to freebies..Now go get some traffic!

i think social networking is the funnest cause you get to make friends in the process of getting traffic. its a little slow but its fun. try traffic exchange too

my answer

1) I have more money than time
2) I am not really familiar with internet marketing. so far I only earn $67 from affiliate marketing and have a google adsense site that earn $4 USD per week
