I have my first product to launch and I am really stuck as there are so many things to weigh in this decision. Should I use clickbank to launch, if so, I can't do a one click upsell that I was planning as I'm using butterfly 2. I'd be leaving alot of money on the table. If I go clickbank, they will handle orders processing, cancellations and I get more access to potential affiliates as I'm not known in my niche yet. With cb i don't have to deal with setting up alot of stuff that I would by going on my own which means i get to market quicker. so I see the tradeoff is I make less money per sale thru CB (potentially make $20 less), leaving alot on the table, but potentially more affiliates and less headaches with clickbank. if I did it without cb I would activiely be recruiting afiliates so it's not like I would just be sitting on my hands but my idea is that with cb you can leverage their marketplace to get affiliates. Being new I'm not sure how well I'll be able to get people to promote even though my product is quality and needed by the market (i've beta tested and surveyed) I have the knowledge and ability to run the launch on my own, so that's not an issue, my main concern is will i get more affiliate thru my CB promotions and advertising to offset the income I'm leaving on the table. I could use your help, should I do CB or try it on my own? thanks |

Hi Sourceone Welcome to WF. There's nothing to prevent ypu from doing both. Selling through Clickbank doesen't give CB exclusive rights. Regards John |

hi John, I'm aware of that but the 2 different offers wouldn't be congruent so if customers saw both offers they might feel cheated. thanks for the advise, though |

Do it! Don't get too caught up with what should and shouldn't be.. If you keep on doing that you'll be spending time doing nothing.. If you're in doubt, do both.. |

ClickBank claims to have over 100,000 active affiliates. Is that something you can afford to pass up? Granted, not all those affiliates will be in your niche, but that's still a large number that's more or less built-in just by being on Clickbank. On top of that, if you pay an affiliate more than $600, you'll need to do 1099's and all that jazz if you do things on your own and manage your own affiliate program. If you go through ClickBank, the affiliates are actually ClickBank's affiliates, so ClickBank is responsible for taking care of the proper forms for their affiliates. That is one less big headache for you! And, whether you use ClickBank or not, you're going to have to do some legwork to attract affiliates. But, with ClickBank, you already have a headstart in getting them. |
