Strategies of a successful blogger?

Hey warriors!

I'm another lost minded online wanderer who needs a little help. I got my website, FitFrek.com. I developed and produced my first product (muscle building ebook, not released yet) and my traffic is "not bad" (10 to 50 per day).

I comment on other blogs, not as much as I should be though. I'm not a regular poster on any forums.

Do I do the whole 20/80 rule (20 percent of methods, 80 percent of efforts) or do I keep spinning in circles until I give up?

Which way do I go?!

Thank you,
Nader

10 to 50 visits a day is a decent traffic for a blog that has 9 posts. If you want more traffic, post more articles.I stopped promoting after a series of Google updates and concentrated my whole time on building and posting contents like nothing happened. Google is indexing my articles like nothing happened as well and people are finding my blog like nothing happened..

The best strategy is to write and post more unique and original content while building your list and expect later....

Your site has a big potential especially if the pictures posted on the header are yours... Analyze what keywords are used by people in finding your site and build more articles around those or related keywords.

Thank you thats very encouraging for me to hear. I have a strong following on some social media platforms, just not Facebook and Twitter.

I guess the way I'm going is "good" and I should keep going step by step!

Yes that is my pictures. I can give you my elementary and high school teachers as a reference, I was so skinny, that I would be flying through the hallways because of the wind caused by other students. Lol.

      Actually that's the problem.

I don't get any search engine visitors. My traffic is driven by the influence that i have on social media. I have 9 visits total since my website opened, but yet I can't even see what they searched because Google Analytics doesn't tell me.

      Thank you !

    Hey DieselFit,

It's a bit pricy, but I would check out Blog Masters Club by David Risley if that product is still updated and for sale.

I used the info in that product to make a travel blog I had profitable. Part of the product is about traffic generation.

Never give up. If you have a minimum of 5 blog articles you can then promote it.

80/20% rule: 80% promotion and 20% content. It means you should promote it whatever place to promote it. Social media, Commenting, forum, podcast, document sharing, tutorials site, video site, courses site, bloggers group, press release, guest blogging ANYWHERE. You can even try to pay for traffic but not recommended if you are just starting.

You don't have to create content everyday. A well written and detailed content every month is enough. The most important is on how you can promote or drive traffic to your site.

Hi Nader, it may help you to appreciate that publishing content just on your own site isn't really a traffic-generation plan: the only traffic that that can ever really bring you is a little gradual, eventual, search-engine traffic (and that's very often the most difficult type of traffic there is to monetize).

Ptcrefco (just above) is right, of course.

      .

Hey Alexa! Nice to see you again . Yes I don't depend on any search engines, in fact my traffic ONLY comes from other blogs and social media networks. Otherwise, i would be getting ZERO traffic lol!

I'll have to thank you for the suggestion even though Ptcerfco first suggested it

Assume, I build a list by SE traffic, reputation... trust.. blah..blah... and start promoting to the list. Is your saying still valid?

Thank you for your awesome advice!

I have some influence on social media, and I do interact on other blogs. your advice is perfect because I actually ONLY get my traffic from other blogs/social media. I don't get any search engine traffic!

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it!

Patience is the key of a successful blogger. It takes more than a month or so to see progress on your blogs. Just be patient and you will see results about your blogs. For now focus on creating content and promoting it.

Then if you have time learn some list building method and conversion methods. So that you will know what to do next.

It would help to repurpose your content.

Create a PDF version of your article and post it on PDF sharing sites.

After that, you can do an audio version of your articles and upload it to audio sharing sites (or do a podcast)

Lastly, you can make a powerpoint presentation of your articles with the audio you just made and post in youtube and other video sharing sites (you might want to try tubemogul).

So you get to post articles ON YOUR SITE for search traffic and also get to promote it using other types of media.

Just don't forget that no matter how much traffic you drive to your site, if your website is not designed to monetize your visitors then you're really wasting your time.

This is true and while the blog does not need to be uber fancy you should be drawing them to your list or offering them something. At first glance your opt-in box is very easy to miss and doesn't really stand out. Maybe a little pop up after 30 seconds with an offer they can't refuse to sign up on your list? An ongoing video series perhaps? That's all I read lately is that video is a must!

It really depends on what works using an opt-in. Some say you should use pop up, in the header, on the side bar etc... I would say it's better to test it. And if you find the winning strategy stick with it. Pop up may worked for some but won't work for others. So, it is advicable to test the winning strategy o capture leads.

    Create remarkabe content.

Don't just create 5 posts for the sake of creating some posts... Make those posts more then good. Research about what your audience wants and write about it, write an awesome piece about it.

Once you have a post up, go and reach out other bloggers ask them for an opinion, and if it's good believe me that they would love to post it as a guest post...

Take a look at this situation from their view.

-They are succesful, they have a lot to do and a very large audience that are waiting to hear from them, sometimes it's not easy for them to write posts, they're not always full on ideas. Writing is pretty hard!

So if you have a good post that will match their audience and can benefiet you and them, they would love to post it. So that's a win win.

You should never even consider giving up!

What you need to do is drive targeted traffic to the blog - that way it has more chances of people sharing and re-sharing your content. Once that happens, you will get a lot of free traffic.

What you can do is find forums on your Niche - join a few - and then become an active member. Forum marketing can really work well, if you work it well.

Just implement simple internet marketing strategies. Video Marketing, Forum Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Article Marketing, SEO, Guest Blogging, etc.

If you implement the right tasks on a daily basis - your daily traffic flow will also grow. But you got to take massive action with all of the necessary work!

    I hope this helps!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers!

Certainly not the second of your options, because it has those forbidden words int it....Don't give up!

Particularly when you're getting that kind of traffic from a rather thin site.

My only suggestion would be to make sure you're capitalizing on the dozens of visitors you're currently getting. If you haven't released your free gift yet, how else are you building your list? This should be done from day 1.

If you're looking for long term results just keep making great and unique blog posts every few days and over a few months or even a year you should be able to get plenty of traffic from Google. I personally think YouTube is awesome and should link them together to get more traffic. Most people decide to give up before they get true results which is why only about 1% of people make a good living online. I would also say if you need help getting your 1st 10 sales you should invest in your site with advertising.

DieselFit, do you do your blog commenting campaign on your own? Why not just hire someone who can do that for you? Train that person first, of course. Mention your goal on why you need that, together with the do's and don'ts. Blog commenting on related blogs is also one of my marketing techniques and I don't do that myself as it obviously consumes a lot of time, especially that my goal is to have at least 30 blog comments per day.

Blogging is a long term thing. You really need a strong audience to get anywhere with it. Honestly I think blogging is a waste of time. You could be spending your time better than writing content for a blog that has a high chance of just sitting there doing nothing for you.

If you got your inspiration from people like john chow or shoemaker. You might want to go ahead and stop blogging now because those guys are 1 in a million. They got in at the right time and i don't even think Jeremy makes much from his blog anymore. I'm sure its a side project by now and john chow totally sold out and just pushes his MLM program or what ever hes got going on right now. He makes a lot of money from it, but the chances of you getting up there are very very slim.

This goes for all blogs. The only use blogs have nowadays is for creating a following in a niche that you can sell products too. The days of creating a blog writing about what you like to do and making money from it is pretty much over unless you can become another 1 in a million but I feel like blogs are on the way out overall. There will be better platforms people will move to.

Focus on blogger outreach - aggressively! Which includes more blog comments!

Post in forums, give Triberr a try, be active on social media, etc. Thing is...

What works best for one person, doesn't always work for the next. So, it's important that you test and track different traffic methods to increase visibility - and then do more of what works best for YOU.

Content is king and Google loves you for great content! Post often, like every couple of days so that your blog appears really active, mail to your posts to your list.

Be active on forums and reddit (/r/fitness , /r/bodybuilding) and slip your blog in every now and again!

I really don't know why lots of Internet Marketers are so obsessed in Google. Yes Google can help you drive tons of traffic to your site, but with all the algorithm, I will never depend my site to Google. There are so many ways that your site can be found without depending on Google.

Google never pays you, people pays you. Impress people not Google.

While I do agree with you, I have to say, content is really important for Google as well. You don't have to depend on Google for traffic, but knowing that a big chunk of traffic comes from search engines is proof you're doing something right, SEO wise.
