Good but not expensive VPS server

I am starting out in affiliate marketing and need to find a good VPS server company to host tracking software and landing pages. At a minimum i will need the following


Minimum 1GB RAM
PHP 5.3 or better
MySQL 5.3 or better
Ability to create cron jobs
Apache
NGINX or Litespeed

Please do not recommend hosting companies just to get affiliate commission.

    If its unmanaged then you can put whatever you want on so you would install PHP,
    MySQL, make it able to run cron jobs. The only thing they do come setup with is Apache.

    If you go managed VPS then the word 'cheap' wont enter the equation.

    I got mine by looking through offers on webhostingtalk in the VPS offers.
    Look there and my advice would be to look at longtime members with good feedback, dont just take the cheapest:

        I have just had a look myself and there are some good value managed offers.

        Just make sure the offer is recurring and not for x months.
        Ask the seller questions, visit the sellers site, dont rush into it.

    From my experience, KnownHost and WiredTree are both great managed VPS providers.

    What do you consider to be "not expensive"?

    Having a budget in mind will help determine what you are looking for.

    For instance, you can get a killer managed VPS at WiredTree for around $50/month (among others). It will make your life very easy. They do everything for you. But if $50/month is out of the question, then you may get some other suggestions.

    Just be aware that in hosting, as in life, you usually get what you pay for.

    most of the cheap deals are unmanaged which could be insecure and disastrous to non-technical as it usually end up hacked sites and servers. Always find a managed VPS machine, follow some one who can offer you personal support and guide lines.

    If you want cheap but ok it's hostmonster vps, the support it's fantastic and it's fairly fast. There are better but you have to pay, so if you are on a budget that is my advice check them out.
