Tracking Software for Follow Up and Back Ends??

Hi. I am just curious if some of you use any type of software to track follow up and back-end services to your customers and prospects?

Example:
I want to develop a plan to contact my current clients and offer them more services and was thinking about picking one day each month and contacting them all. But some of you must use some kind of software for this? Im sure it could be done with excel or word but I'd like to automate this.

Same thing with prospects, I'd like to follow up with them on a schedule.
