Is ClickBank now officialy DEAD ?

Hi,

I just wonder now that amazon is selling Kindle books - is there any point to sell my eBooks through ClicBank ?

What do you think? I am about to launch my eBook and I am not sure what is the best way to go about it: sell it as a kindle book or create a sales page and sell it through ClicBank .

Thanks

I guess you should do both , even you should try JVZoo and Warriorplus also .

Why i am saying that, like every gaming company develops different versions of same games for different platforms , you and every IMer should try all platforms.

Never lose a chance to market your product ,because every market has its own importance.

I strongly agree with this, JVZoo and Warriorplus are both good alternatives/additions to Clickbank and Amazon. Try to widen your marketplace rather than narrow it.

At least semi-serious, I think - though I see that one might well wonder.

A lot of threads fall into that category: people who have no real conception of the size, turnover and profitability of some businesses like to ask whether they're "dead". It's quite amusing in the case of a company like ClickBank. The realities are that it's been there for longer than Google, has paid out something approaching $3 Billion to its vendors and affiliates in that time, and continues to grow steadily. There are more and more people making their full-time livings through ClickBank, year by year.

Keep guessing, because you didn't quite get it right, yet.

No serious, pro-affiliate of ClickBank (the ones who make about 97% of the sales) is going to promote a product that also has a separate sales page on Amazon. There are some pretty good and valid reasons for that, too, but I'm not sure you'd be interested in them, really.

I agree with you about Clickbank. It is one of the best marketplaces out there for info products. Not just good for product owners but also for affiliates. I made a lot of money from Clickbnak through affiliate marketing.

But I don't know your reason for not advocating selling our products elsewhere even when we are doing well on Clickbank. I would think product owners should try to get as much exposure to their products as they possibly can.

Because affiliates are afraid that some people might buy the product from some place else, where their ClickBank cookie is worthless. In making their product available on multiple platforms, vendors alienate all professional affiliates who don't want to risk losing money to Amazon or other platforms.

          That's the short answer, anyway.

I'm sure that if you were an affiliate for a ClickBank product, you wouldn't really be glad when a subscriber of yours emails you, saying how wonderful the ebook is, and how they got it at a better price on Amazon.

It's not quite as simple as that.

Remember that nearly all the sales at ClickBank come through a very small minority of the affiliates, and that "having as many affiliates as possible" and "making as many sales as possible" are two very different (and sometimes even mutually conflicting) things.

The affiliates put off by "having another sales page elsewhere" are typically the exact ones who make all the sales. Here are some threads that explain it in more detail, Anwar ...

If you don't have relationships with affiliates, an audience or a list, then amazon should benefit you but you can't sell it at the same price you do on clickbank, but you will be selling it...

On Cb you can get affiliates (at least some even if you don't take JV initiatives) to promote your products and send you some sales. On Amazon yiu rbook would theoritically be noticed by more people which might or might not lead to sales.

If I were you I'd start doing affiliate recruitment (not as easy as it sounds though) and then launch on Clickbank.

Clickbank certainly is not dead, Amazon sells to a broad market whereas Clickbank is a well-known vendor of information products and has a niche audience-it does billions of dollars of business each year - the thing to remember is your ebook is going to appeal to a certain type of person, you should think where that type of consumer is going to shop, or search - plus the marketing of your ebook should include diverse platforms.

I think when you sell at clickbank , it's easier to make sales because affiliates drive traffic to it.
So you make more sales But have to share commission with affiliates

And on kindle , you will make the sale when certain kinda people search for it .
What I would say is try both at first and see what works

If I were running KDP, I would certainly ensure the steady demise of Click Bank (and all others). IS Click Bank dead? No. Could it be strangled and tossed in a ditch? Of course. Everything that makes Click Bank superior to KDP could be integrated in 2 months, and to a far more efficient level. Will it happen? It appears KDP are asleep at the wheel, so Click Bank can rest easy. For now.

I still think Clickbank and Amazon are two rather different platforms. Just because you can sell ebooks on both doesn't mean they are the same.

For one, Clickbank actually gives you more control over what your own product - pricing, affiliate commissions, actually the full sales funnel. Amazon, on the other hand, takes a chunk off what you make, cross promotes other products which you'll never see a single cent of, and doesn't allow you to capture leads before allowing buyers to download your ebook.

One the other hand, Amazon has a great sales system in place and more affiliate at their disposal than you will most likely ever have. The cost to publish and promote through Amazon is a lot lower than you would on your own through platforms like Clickbank and JVZoo.

So to me, just because Amazon is doing great isn't a sign that Clickbank (or any other payment processor) are dying, and vice versa. They aren't really directly competing with one another.

Bit of a tangent, but who is the entity that gets to "officially" declare things dead?

Like, is there Internet CSI that arrives at a domain? They find themselves surrounded by would be marketers lamenting the money they didn't deserve to make and then the main guy puts on his glasses and says something like "I'm WSO sorry." YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.

...I forgot where I was going with this.
