When can you consider that you've made it as an internet marketer?

I've been running an online business for a few years now and have acheived a certain level of success (as far as I'm concerned) although I'm still far from the 15000$/day some people claim to make online

I'm curious as to what most of you would consider to be success in the internet marketing field. Is it when you reach a certain daily average? Is it when you acheive a certain level of income stability?

I believe self-actualization here is, at heart, the same as in any other profession: you've achieved the goals you intended to achieve. Hard question, of course, on numerous levels. Take me: I've achieved my initial goals and since set others, achieved them, and so on it goes. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm one of those who will ever feel truly self-actualized. There will always be another mountain, another peak to climb.

If you are moving forward each day and making more money than last month , that means you are progressing and have a successful business .
Different people have different goals . Right now mine is to make 100k a month.
There are people who already make a million a month .
But how do you eat an elephant ?? One bite at a time
    Right ?

It is whatever you say it is.

Mine was to just be able to quit my job and provide for my family. Some people can do it on 2K a month while others need 10K.

That's done so I consider myself successful.

Now I have higher goals I set myself and am working on those.

      Cheers

There are many liars who claim they do.

In reply to the original question, how much is enough? In my opinion there is no such thing as too much. If you earn enough to pay all your expenses and bills, live your life to the full doing whatever you want to everyday and having more than enough money to do that, then give more to worthwhile causes and charities and consider helping others achieve success with your own membership website or recommend one you belong to as an affiliate to earn a little extra? After all you are doing them a service and deserve some small reward for doing so?

Always aim for the stars and maybe you will arrive at the moon?

For me, it was after I'd achieved a steady-ish and gradually increasing monthly income (from ClickBank, in my case) in each of 3-4 consecutive months, which was more than my "making a living" monthly required amount. That was the point at which I realised I'd actually be able to make a steady/good living from it, and not have to get a job when I eventually graduated. At the time, I regarded that as "success", because "not having to go out and get a job and work for someone else" was what it was all about, for me. And still is, really.

Success is only defined by your own standards.
Don't care too much of how others see you.

If you think you are having success in internet marketing then you are.
This can be proved by the results you have or even by the lifestyle you are living.

I can say I have success by making money online living in a nice comfortable small house.
But some may say success is when you have a super yacht and a mansion...

The real question is what do you want out of Internet Marketing? To earn enough to lead a simple low maintenance life or live in a mansion with 3 super cars on the drive.

Set achievable goals and rinse and repeat when you hit one. I think the hardest part may be knowing when to stop!

Success is how you define it my friend. My definition is $50K per month. My 'other' definitions are:

    - Financial independence
    - Self Employment (Well I have done this for many many many years already :-) )
    - Beautiful Family all taken care of emotionally, spiritually and financially.

I am blessed that I do not owe anyone anything. My house is paid off for a few years ago and so are my cars. My wife and best friend and our two kids are healthy and very happy. And you know what, so am I.

    I have achieved success!

So just clearly define what you believe are your true 'hearts' desires in terms of success and simply take action one day at a time. All the very best.

LOL. I [mis]read a comma after "cars" instead of a period and it made a big difference in your statement. Had to reread that line.

As much as you need to live the life of freedom.

Some people have very little expenses and can life their dream life with $3k while others need $50k.

Stop focusing on other people's results and focus on progressing yourself.

If you are having getting more traffic, leads and sales than last month then you are making it as an internet marketing.

I you want a straight answer I would say anyone who is able to live as a full time internet marketer has made it.

Money is not the most important thing you get with this business, its the time and location freedom you get to use the money you make.

Success is what you make of it. Some people are happy with a few hundred dollars a month coming in from IM, while others aren't happy unless they've got $30K per month coming in. Others would consider a $30K month a bad month.

What I've found is as I make more and more money online, my idea of what successful is keeps expanding. A couple thousand a month coming in from IM was my original marker for success. Now, I'm looking at much, much more than that as my idea of success.

I define success in Internet Marketing as being able to afford to work from home without struggling to make ends meet. The only problem is the more I make, the more I spend, and then I have to go out and hustle to make even more...It's a never-ending cycle...lol.

When your business is improving the lives of other people then you are successful. Everything after that such as earning money or getting recognition is just a bonus.

Personally, I believe that any business success hinges on the following quote:

"To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I believe you become a successful internet marketer when you have both - Time and Freedom - in abundance.

When you can take off an entire month from working online - and still make thousands of dollars on autopilot - then you have accomplished true financial freedom and just true freedom in general.

When your assets are paying you on a daily basis, whether you work or not, that is the best success you can accomplish in the wealth aspect of your life.

Time is the most valuable thing we own and have. So having plenty of it and also having a lot of money coming in - is just the best success you can accomplish in life.

    Just my 2cents.....

    Cheers!

I believe it depends, not only on how you define "making it," but whether you ever bother to define it at all.

Zig Ziglar used to say that if you aim at nothing, you'll hit it every time.

If you don't set a goal, you'll never know whether you've reached it, and there's a good chance you'll never get anywhere worthwhile.

Sure, there might be people who go into this without a specific goal in mind and who happen to hit it, or exceed it. But if such a person exists, they're the exception, so why make it a gamble for yourself by not having a target?

I believe you need "maximum time worked" goal AND an income goal, then break it down into milestones. Otherwise, you could end up maxing out your time before you even come close to hitting your income goal.

So set a monthly income goal and, more important, set a goal for how many hours you want to work per day and how many days you want to work per week. Then, start working on your plan. If you keep at it, you'll find your answer in time...

And you'll get a lot more satisfaction from THAT answer than you will from asking us.
